Muse is a former pro hero who used to have the ability to use their voice to break any object as if it were glass. After a serious injury, they were left unable to use it, and instead became a rescue hero using other aspects of their Quirk. Eventually they began training under Present Mic to try to regain their ability, but it’s since been confirmed that they’ll never be able to use it again in a battle without risking permanent damage. They retired from hero work officially after this realization (though they still aid other heroes from time to time), and became a teacher at UA instead.

Kotone is the child of Muse and Hizashi Yamada in a timeskip au starting 11 years from the current events of the manga.
