Based on chess, Serdium's culture is heavily geared towards its Court system, comprised of the five primary Courts (White, Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) who rule over their nations as supreme, divine leaders, and direct their lower court in all areas of life. Choked with Harmonics and Chaotics, Serdium's magical atmosphere is rather unstable, even after the murder of the previous core H/C at the hands of the Black & White Courts. The years of magical war that followed worsened the issue, which was "fixed" by sealing as much excess magic under the oceanfloor as possible.
However, in recent years, three newer Courts (C, M, Y) have cropped up, threatening the lifestyle and unsteady armistace that the B/W have created for themselves. Peace threatens to collapse as political and trade pressure begins to press harder and harder on all five nations.
The White Court, along with the Black Court, were the original two kingdoms after the assassination of the leader Harmonics. The White Court is quiet and reclusive in modern times, having settled its border with its neighboring Court and becoming more concerned with new overseas threats rather than their own continent. Kept well-hidden is the state of their King, O'Brien, mentally unwell and sickly, for fear of attack from other courts.
This is where the Pawns, Barons, Earls, Vassals, and peasants of the White Court are stored. They serve their Upper Court with dedication and fierce loyalty, primarily due to believing in religious divinity.
The Black Court, along with the Wite Court, were the original two kingdoms after the assassination of the leader Harmonics. The Black Court is rowdy and energetic in modern times, still occasionally letting their denizens squabble with its border and putting pressure on the other Court to hand over more land or resources in return for peace. Their dedication is wholly towards their ingroup, and they protect their vassals with all their military might.
This is where the Pawns, Barons, Earls, Vassals, and peasants of the Black Court are stored. They serve their Upper Court with dedication and fierce loyalty, primarily due to believing in religious divinity.
Individuals who either no longer belong to a Court or never belonged to a Court go here. They may be of various origins and do not necessarily know each other just because they're in this folder together.
