【 Synopsis 】
Flowers. They are rather resillent as they fight for the right to open up under the scorching sun. Whether they were carefully chosen by people, or decided to bloom on their own volition, one cannot deny that the world is full of them. Yokai- or spirits, are as common as these flowers. They come and go between mortal realms and may be greeted with compassion and love, or be as unwanted as the weeds a gardener would pull- each with their own distinct stories.

【 Lore 】
Sowing the Seeds
When the Earth was still young and early lifeforms weren't quite established, there was no place for souls to reach upon reaching their physical form's limit. As such before a 'dedicated afterlife' was procured, wandering souls started to merge themselves with other things in a last-ditch effort as self-preservation. Animals, plants, even inanimate lifeforms such as rocks were chosen as the soul's next vessels. This gave the souls a second chance at life and birthed the very first type of 'yokai' to roam the world. Of course humans were very cautious and didn't take lightly to them at this point.
Some humans had misplaced their fear, and instead of cowering over the newly formed yokai, they started to put the responsibility and blame onto them for natural happenings. In order to live a 'safe' life they begun to revere some of the stronger yokai, thus creating new Divine Yokai, or 'Kami'. For many years the humans and Kami lived and worked together in order to uphold peace and prosperity.
Current-Time
However as time went on, humans advanced, leaving both yokai and Kami left in their old ways. The humans had evolved, changed and no longer needed to rely on the Kami for food, shelter or even companionship. So much so that the human lost the ability to see them. The era of the Kami was over and yokai started to slip away from being friends to being mere figures in story books. This was not without it's own issues, as yokai started to grow restless, wanting their power back....
