A young man wakes up on the shore of an island, devoid of all memory. By his side, a hungry little rat, wishing to eat, wishing to live.

Lingering Beasts is a story centered on two individuals. Emil Solunir, an amnesiac skilled at duelling, and Victor Solunir, a little rat that other rats follow the command of, like some odd kind of rat king.
Together they try to live a wholesome life, though it seems they are fated to suffer at the whims of the abyss...

setting

The story is mainly set in the Paradisia Antiqua, an archipelago whose inhabitants are split in two, the surface-dwellers and the aquatic-folk. The god Celtillos presides over this domain, though his powers seem to have waned completely and he is trapped in eternal slumber.
