These characters are from a gothic horror setting that contains shapeshifting eldritch monsters and religious themes.
If you're not comfortable depicting that kind of stuff, you absolutely don't have to; they can be depicted without any of it. I'd avoid Part 1 if religious imagery makes you uncomfortable!

Also, a couple of quick notes:
- Please try to be mindful of my characters' skin tones. While I understand stylized lighting, Lysandre and Alistair should not be as pale as Enoch.
- I'm not as picky about their body types, but I am always happy to receive art of Lysandre where he's visibly thicker. I'm bad at drawing him, but I imagine him looking pretty sturdy (and hydrated: he does not have a six-pack).

Setting (Parts 1 & 2): A run-down kingdom with churches and castles, resembling Victorian England (think Bloodborne, but without all the beasts running around). In Part 1, Enoch is disguised as a priest of a once-widespread, now defunct old religion that worshiped eldritch Gods, referred to as the Old Gods. This religion's symbol is the twelve-pointed star, one point for each of the twelve Old Gods in its pantheon; aesthetically, its architecture and vestments superficially resemble Catholicism. In Part 2, Enoch is an archivist working to preserve the knowledge he once endeavored to hide as part of a greater restoration effort to build a new and better society.
Setting (Part 3): A thriving city resembling early 20th century (1920s) Europe. Enoch works as a doctor, specializing in cardiothoracic surgery.
As a shifter, Enoch's true form is essentially a mass of black sludge, eyes, tentacles, and sharp teeth. Its shape vaguely resembles that of a spider's, but it is ultimately rather fluid and dynamic in nature. While he is in his human form, hints of his true form show through his shadow; he can manifest it as black tendrils that grow visibly inky and slimy the more his grip over his human forms slips. The mark on his face is actually how his kind scars; it was inflicted upon him by Alistair many years ago.

Its shape vaguely resembles that of a spider's, but it is ultimately rather fluid and dynamic in nature. While he is in his human form, hints of his true form show through his shadow; he can manifest it as black tendrils that grow visibly inky and slimy the more his grip over his human forms slips. The mark on his face is actually how his kind scars; it was inflicted upon him by Alistair many years ago.
As an Arbiter, Lysandre has power over water and ice, and often uses these to form impromptu weapons, such as swords and knives.
They are ideological opposites by every definition of the phrase. Lysandre battles between wanting to both subjugate and redeem Enoch. Conversely, Enoch is fascinated with Lysandre, whose genuine idealism and stalwart pureheartedness seem too good to be true. Both are obsessed with the other, and both stake the validities of their entire worldview on the outcome of this battle of wills. Neither seems to realize yet that Lysandre has already won.

Lysandre is a former Arbiter, a once-immortal holy knight who is now just an ordinary man. He, too, assists with the reconstruction efforts, paying a visit to Enoch in the Archive from time to time.
As a shifter, Enoch's true form is essentially a mass of black sludge, eyes, tentacles, and sharp teeth. Its shape vaguely resembles that of a spider's, but it is ultimately rather fluid and dynamic in nature. While he is in his human form, hints of his true form show through his shadow; he can manifest it as black tendrils that grow visibly inky and slimy the more his grip over his human forms slips. The mark on his face is actually how his kind scars; it was inflicted upon him by Alistair many years ago.
As a now ordinary human, Lysandre wields a broadsword, but also has expertise with throwing knives.
They are cautious friends who were once ideological enemies. Both understand and recognize the grip they have over each other, and handle that responsibility with more care. Enoch is thankful to Lysandre for showing them how to love living, and Lysandre is thankful to Enoch for showing him how to live for himself more. They maintain as much of a healthy distance as is possible for them.

Setting: A thriving city resembling early 20th century (1920s) Europe. Enoch works as a doctor, specializing in cardiothoracic surgery. Alistair is a physics professor, teaching mechanical physics at a prestigious university.
As a shifter, Enoch's true form is essentially a mass of black sludge, eyes, tentacles, and sharp teeth. Its shape vaguely resembles that of a spider's, but it is ultimately rather fluid and dynamic in nature. While he is in his human form, hints of his true form show through his shadow; he can manifest it as black tendrils that grow visibly inky and slimy the more his grip over his human forms slips. The mark on his face is actually how his kind scars; it was inflicted upon him by Alistair many years ago.
Alistair is also a shifter, but he is much more shy about showing his true form. He almost never utilizes his powers and is content to live his life as ordinarily as is possible.
They are 'friends' currently cohabitating under Alistair's own behest. As the only remaining survivors of what occurred two hundred years ago, they have much reason to stay together. Alistair clings to Enoch out of a deep-seated fear of loneliness, while Enoch tolerates Alistair out of what is, at first, a sense of obligation. As they spend more time together, however, they come to realize that they aren't so bad a match after all.

Bloodborne AU: Since their setting already coincidentally resembles Bloodborne so much, I figured I'd make an actual Bloodborne AU for them LOL. Enoch is a member of the Choir, who is versed in the arcane arts and mainly makes use of spells such as the Augur of Ebrietas or A Call Beyond; he does, however, also wield the Church Pick as needed, paired with a Rosmarinus. Lysandre is a former Executioner (sans helmet), who questioned his vows and now only wishes to try to help whatever innocent still remain in Yharnam; he wields Ludwig's Holy Blade and a Hunter Pistol. You could also draw Enoch in Micolash's outfit (head-cage included), and I would be overjoyed to see it.
Other Outfits: I'd love to see the two of them drawn in or as...
- Victorian maid dresses! Nothing too short-cut, the skirts should be at least knee-length. Frills and lace are loved.
- Victorian or Georgian era dresses in general.
- Lysandre in medieval knight armor and Enoch in literally whatever goes well with Lysandre. Or honestly you could draw Lysandre solo in armor and forget about Enoch. LOL

The others split off; Ein follows you, however, into the throne room.
You open the large doors; they creak open with a guttural noise. Inside, the throne is grand and tall... carved from coral, decorated with pearls and shells. Statues of guards in armor stand about the room, locked into defensive positions, poised as if ready to strike at a target no longer there. In the center of the room, before the throne, is a person wearing a dress of once-streaming cloth. Like the guards, they, too, are frozen in stone, their expression twisted in pain. Their hand is over their chest in a gripping motion, as if they had been holding the shaft of a weapon that once impaled straight through them, their knees on the ground.
The weapon as implied is no longer there, though. An incomplete statue: missing the very thing that caused such agony.
Ein steps forward, his shuffling footsteps echoing through the halls. He crouches in front of the body, eye level with it. ".... Bring back any memories, Jae?"

Ground Rules
Original characters and settings only. I will not do fandom-based content.
Age 18+ only.
Discord only.
No explicit smut. I am 100% okay with sexual content / raunchy jokes / etc, but I will not write out actual sex scenes.
No fetishization of sexual assault or sexual abuse. I can be okay with these topics being mentioned in an RP only if they are written respectfully - and most certainly not explicitly. I am also generally uncomfortable with settings that incorporate systemic sexism as part of the worldbuilding and will personally not write them.
If you cannot handle dark themes (including but not limited to death, torture, abuse, psychological horror, etc), we will not be a good match.
No nitpicking over grammar and polish. I prefer RPing to be a casual experience, mechanically speaking, and prioritize substance over style. "Substance" here refers to quality and not quantity; I also do not enjoy people who nitpick over the length of responses. That said, my replies will generally be grammatically correct, and I do expect to at least receive legible responses.
If you are bothered by LGBT characters, we will not be a good fit.
No heavy planning of plot points ahead of time. This defeats the purpose of RP for me. Obviously just discussing ideas is 100% okay, but I'm not going to RP out something that we've entirely scripted from the start.
I am not very familiar with tumblr/toyhouse/etc RP terminology, so please forgive me if I don't know what some words mean. I have >10 years of RP experience across IRC channels, forums, and Discord servers, but almost none on tumblr/toyhouse/etc.
I am very picky and selective about who I am willing to write with, and if we don't work out, please know that there are no hard feelings from me - sometimes we just aren't a good fit, and that's okay! But if you are going to take it personally, it's probably for the best that we both look elsewhere. ^^;
Style
Does the idea of "DnD but without the numbers" interest you? Well... what I'm mainly looking for right now is someone who would be interested in being a player character with me as "DM" in a 1x1 environment! I have extremely extensive experience doing RPs this way and can absolutely guarantee that, if we click, you will really enjoy it. My style of RP is likely a little different from what you're used to, but I promise that if we can get things off the ground, we will have a great time. I know this sounds overconfident, but I really do have an established history doing what I do, and doing it well!
What I typically do is begin by crafting an expansive world, filling it with believable characters, and then making your character(s) the protagonist of that world and its plotlines. This means I am not only used to but default to writing multiple characters, and will gladly take care of writing all of the "party" characters, antagonists, and other side characters myself.
My focuses are worldbuilding, character interaction, character development, and character-driven storylines. For an idea on where I draw my writing inspirations from in terms of how I craft my worlds and characters, I would say Tales of the Abyss, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, and Valkyria Chronicles 1 are good examples of things that most resemble my RP settings and themes.
I know this sounds like a bit much, but please note that I'm very cognizant of the fact that RP is a collaborative experience! You are more than welcome to exert as much control as you'd like, and I invite you to offer suggestions, ideas, etc. And I'm also happy to drop the reins and have our 1x1 be a much more traditional 50-50 split as well; I only offer this because I really do enjoy "DMing" and pretty much everyone I've ever done this with has really enjoyed it too! ^^
Scheduling
I prefer to do RP in sessions rather than post-by-post, as you can see from my sample. This means we should ideally be available at the same time. I have a very open and flexible schedule: I am in the US East Coast timezone and will generally be available anywhere from 1pm to 2am. I do work M-F 9-5 so that can sometimes take me away from RP, as well as other hobbies and friends, of course. And if we can't be online at the same times, that's fine, but just note that this is my preference, and it works much better with my "DM" style!
Post Length
Per my sample, my post length can vary between single lines of dialogue to multiple paragraphs. The length of my replies will suit the pace of the scene; this goes hand-in-hand with preferring sessions over post-by-post format. I prefer the speed of replies to match the speed of spoken dialogue, so that interactions feel like organic conversations. Therefore, I am not interested in exclusively post-by-posting multiple paragraphs at each other as I feel this is not actually the ideal format for Discord RP.
I understand this is a turn-off for many people, but I highly encourage at least giving my preferred method of RPing a try! I know many people are used to forum-based RP where things had to be done in posts, but I promise that there is so much untapped potential in leveraging Discord as a chat-based RP medium for more dynamic pacing. In particular, I strongly feel that character interactions benefit most from the more conversation-focused style that this confers!
Setting
My default settings are medieval high fantasy type settings, but I've also done tons of other types of settings and am open to most options. I do almost always prefer to have some form of magic present in my RPs, but it's not make-or-break and I can do without.
I do not enjoy doing realistic RPs in modern day settings and I will absolutely not do slice-of-life as a genre.
Shipping
I don't generally create characters with the specific intention of shipping them and prefer to let romances bloom organically. I will say that 90% of the RPs I've done did end up having some kind of romance in them, though, and I love to focus on it! I just don't really like setting things up ahead of time, as you can probably tell by now.
I don't pay much attention to gender so I'm not picky about M/M, F/F, or whatever. A lot of my characters don't really have defined genders beyond what pronouns they use, but if I had to categorize them as such, I'd say most of the ships I've done are M/M or M/NB. I do have some personal discomforts with regards to writing M/F where I am RPing as F, so please keep that in mind.
I also will absolutely not write any ships that are adult/minor or read as such.
