woah thank you !! I'm happy to hear that ;w; but yes! you pretty much described my process xD rather than base it on the mood, I try to adapt it with the character design using shapes
for example, my oc Avia, he's pretty chill and friendly guy, so for his eyes I mainly used rounded shapes that gives a pretty mellow looking, while making it simple to see the emotions through it
unlike my oc E.B, who's very energetic and carefree, so I used more angular and defined shapes that is supposed to make it more into the spiky looking and more dynamic design(? I hope that makes sense xD

Would you be able to recommend me shapes that would be fitting for a fragile, shy character? I’d love to experiment with your idea, but i need to see an example for the eye shape i need first :0

Well that's how I would do it, but you can definitely do it many different ways! It depends to which adapts better to your character and style I'd recommend practicing with different shapes and not limit yourself to just 2 shapes, that's the best way to learn and understand what works out better for you! :3
