aa it's kinda hard to explain xD I guess that I was learning through observation and experience, and attempting to capture things the way I imagined(? I always had a passion for backgrounds, it became my favorite part when drawing, so I think that also helped haha I like to detail even to the smaller corner for sure! I feel that certain details that I incorporate in my art go unnoticed, like the snall details you say, so it's cool when they get noticed :o
