Sims 4 is Free! | Until May 28

Posted 4 years, 11 months ago by Itto

Basically what the title says, now until May 28 you can get Sims 4 completely free on Origin.

  • It is just the base game, expansions still cost money.
  • It is not the Digital Deluxe version, just the simple, basic Sims 4.
  • You can redeem it on your phone, just login/create an account on Origin and grab Sims 4, then login to your computer at a later date with that same account and grab it.
For mods, try some of the following sites:

Thanks! I know some people who'd love those news. :D

Saw this news on FB... My sister and friend plays this a lot and I know she uses a mod for it, guess I should give this a try. Who knows if I ended up liking the basic ver I'll go for the expansion and fancy stuff. Hmmm.

(Thanks for all the mod links also!)

hey jsyk i wouldn't recc simsdom because theyre... pretty unpopular within the tumblr community at least bc they report/steal content and profit off it without permission :0

BUT @ YALL..... DO YOURSELF A FAVOR.......... you'll have it...... forever....... join me in the pit

i did make a post on my mostly inactive sims tumblr with a bunch of cc links for those who'd be getting started as well ^^

(under cut also for access, pasted as it was)

So, you can get TS4 for free on origin for the new week, so I wanted to make this post for people just getting into it! Basegame (especially CAS) can be… very lacking in stuff to use so here’s a funky list of CC (custom content) DL’s for y’all!

Everything here (should be) BGC (base game compatible)!

Of course, none of these are required at all! I just wanted to dump the CC I use the most for others to see : D
(also sorry for all the @’s i just wanted people to be able to click links ;q;)

How to install mods (also includes dl links)

General resources:

  • ModTheSims (more modding oritented but has a bit of everything)
  • TheSimsResource (almost entirely oriented around new CAS items and objects rather than gameplay mods)
  • @mmfinds (clothes and objects that match the game’s style)
  • @sssvitlans (a bit of everything for both ts4 and ts3)

Stuff I use a whole bunch:

Other useful blogs/resources:

Make your own CC:

oh , i didn’t know that they changed ^^” but i’m glad they started linking back (even if it took people throwing DMCAs at them)

Here's some from my own as well.

History Lover's Sims Blog - Lots of historical wearables.

Historical Challenge CC - A hub for historical CC

Lanas CC Finds - A very thorough hub to various CC, all neatly tagged and categorized. Whoops that was already linked

SIMS4Updates .net - Another hub for finding CC that's not centralized on big custom content sites.

Pro tip: Make some nice subfolders in your mod folder to keep your CC tidy. Makes it easier to figure out what's wrong and what each CC is for when something goes wrong.

There are a lot of really good mods for the sims as well, and a lot of sims youtubers who do showcases. I recommend itsmetroi, who makes a lot of videos showcasing new mods and cc's along with tips and tricks! Ill just link some helpful ones here.

I would link some of my favorite mods myself, but most of the good ones are nsfw, so youll just have to find them yourself...

These Videos by LGR are too handy if you grabbed the base game and are wondering what expansions or Game packs to buy. His review style is great, yeah he gives his thoughts on if he feels something is worth it, but at the same time, shows the stuff off in a way you can figure if a pack is worth it for how you play, which could very well vary from how he does. The basegame review will be well out of date given it was released soon after launch and so many patches have happened, but it is more or less still valid for all the packs.

+1 on LGR Reviews. Another spoint for them is, in my opinion, that he isn't afraid to criticize the packs if he finds them lackluster and I think that's commendable for a reviewer.
