I prefer this cover of Marigold by M2U to the original, although i really love most (if not all) of M2U’s stuff
Covers that are - in your opinion - better than the original song? I think it's kinda cool to see these instances, it sometimes gets me into songs I wouldn't have expected I'd be into cause the cover just slaps so much.
My personal fave is this Smooth Criminal cover by Alien Ant Farm - it just has somm to it that tickles my brain like the original couldn't.
I prefer this cover of Over the Hills and Far Away by Nightwish to the original (though I'll admit it stretches the definition of cover, having entirely novel instrumentation iirc).
uhhh this is less a case of preferring and more "i very strongly enjoy this cover and the original", but this cover of... I don't remember what the proper translation of the title is, I know the one on the video is wrong, by Lily and Re:.

I like Weezer's cover of Africa (originally by Toto) better than the original. Family Force 5's cover of Bulletproof (originally by La Roux) is also better imo.
I will always prefer Within Temptation's cover of Radioactive over the original version. The faster pace of it really fits the song better imo.
Within Temptation's cover of Skyfall is also amazing!
