I recently made a virtual pet websites masterlist mostly for fun! I grabbed a bunch of semi-active/active pet sites mostly for myself so I can find new one's easier or try ones I haven't tried later on. I also have a Old/Defunct browser games masterlist, it describes games we all used to know and love and also provides links to possible remakes/revivals of these games.
Feel free to leave suggestions for the virtual pet sites masterlist as long as they fall within the "rules" they aren't anything major just mostly there to make sure the games are actually active. You are also welcome to suggest mobile games now since I saw a few people suggesting some already I though why not just add a section for them.
Also as a sidenote every box has a scroll bar. I noticed a lot of people weren't able to find games I added because they didn't know it was able to scroll. :3
Rules for Suggestions
- Please check the list before suggesting! :)
- The Website must have at least a few active players online or have a recent "news" post.
- If suggesting a mobile game preferably have it about 4 star ratings.
- They must fall specifically in the pet collecting, pet care, or animal roleplay esc(?) categories. (By animal roleplay esc I mean games like Wolvden/Lioden)

Something about Voidpet from what PainterFight suggested, there is a separate application specifically on mobile which I can advocate since it supports mental health! In terms of the website, it's a great time killer if you know Pokemon's system very well, it's almost like that plus a trading system! The community is also welcoming if you decided to go by Discord. I played it a lot before but I have no time now, other than well, the application on mobile haha!

Is amaru technically one of these mobile game-wise? You can't technically collect different critters but it does involve taking care of a pet and customization. Also a self care app like finch and voidpet

Edit: now that I think about it, there's a lot of other pet care/collection mobile games I played during my childhood/random games I come across now. (Also I remember playing monster legends as a kid lol)
Kleptocats & the like - Never played any of the games much, but I think it belongs in this category. Cat collecting and care game where your cats can also find things, and there's a couple of minigames. I think the developer also makes games like these so feel free to check out the others
Mochicats collection - Another cat collection and care game with cats made of mochi. Not much to say, I just think it's neat for your average mobile game.
Dear my cat - Another... cat collection game, but this time the cats are anthropomorphic! Yeah... It's actually quite pretty though, at the cost of boiling your phone alive (fyi, my phone is supposed to be more on the high-end side)
Ocean (The place in your heart) - It's like Dear my cat, but with fish. Relatively new iirc. Also has the same phone-boling issues.
Cats are cute - Nevermind, I think I had a cat-obsessed phase as a kid. It's a cat care and collection game in a more simple doodle style, with a couple of silly minigames with it.
There's also this pretty old one I loved called Pakka Pets, but unfortunately it's off the app store last time I checked. I do recommend it if you want to try find an APK of it. It's a pretty well made tamogachi-like game with a good couple of features.
Can you also add LPS VIPs to the defunct online games list? This one preceded LPS Online, except this one's even more obscure. However, like Online, it also came with plushies that have redeemable codes, but afaik you also must own one of those plushies to play the game (You could borrow pets if you didn't have one, but you had a limited amount of play time).
