as sort of a follow up to what mist-serious said, i'm not a fan of the opposite as well; aggressive or physically uncomfortable female on male characters in anime.

by aggressive, a good example is the trope in anime where there's a girl who's physically violent to others (mainly men) since she's 'angery' or something. it makes me uneasy to watch. chichi and bulma from the dragon ball franchise serve as examples; both of em constantly yell at their husbands, bulma has blackmailed other people/her husband, chichi is/was too focused on gohan being a scholar; wiling to let the earth get blown up bc of it. now she's all "you're a family man now, no fighting!!"

it's so awkward to watch - i know they're on the 'heroes' side, but it just makes me wish that they'd get some sort of comeuppance or realize "hey maybe bashing my husband/child isn't a good idea"... yaddayadda its fictional and all but for me it's just not something i enjoy to watch. i think it's meant to be comedy but i'm not really laughin   

Matreats (thanks for the compliment :D) ughh yes i agree so much, pedo shit and incest is like,  way more common and normalized than it should be! 

Im kinda boycotting anime myself for a few reasons along with the ones mentioned above. 

For some reason alot of anime really likes to present trans women or crossdressing cis men as badly as they can or as a comic relief trope.  Straight up referring to them as the t word and they are almost always the antagonist. Ive heard of anime that represent them properly but most are fairly newer ones.

And dont even get me started on the way they represent black people 90% of the time.  Whether its using every stereotype they could think of or literally abandoning the artsyle of the show to make black people look like big lipped atrocities or some other racist shit. 

And stuff like bad representations affects real people.  There have been people talking about their experience in japan with shopkeepers refusing to let them in shops or following them around stires because of the awful stereotype of black people being theifs. And the fetishism of black people and foreigners in general is just as bad western fetishism of asians. 

I think its more of a cultural thing.  While western culture would not allow stuff like that,  there isnt really enough people to change things over there.  Japan has a less than 10% foreigner rate from what ive heard so itd be really hard for any minorities to have their voice heard against the 90% and change is hard and takes time 

Its honestly so frustrating to get into an anime only for it to go completely to shit.  Investing hours of time into an anime only to be disgusted the 5th episode in is really annoying 

husbrandos omg yes yes,  i HATE how females in anime are basically excused for bullying, harrassing and abusing males

"oh shes a tsundere!!" is no excuse for hitting men and yanderes are some of the creepiest most manipulative and r*apey characters ive ever seen.  

And people who are fans of that have this idea that the male in that situation is "lucky" saying they wish they had a yandere after them (no tf u dont shdjdsj trust me)

I'm just so tired of people letting it slide because "It's just their culture!11!!" So????? That doesn't make it okay all of a sudden. I really don't like the way the general population of Japan acts and I think that their current culture is pretty awful. Everything is normal over there and it's stupid and needs to stop.

And also on the agressive female trope theres an example of that in bnha

Bakugous mom. From what ive seen of her,  she isnt a good parent. I can see why bakugou turned out the awful way he did. But most of the fandom veiws her as a cutesy "angery uwu momma" along with her son as an "angery uwu boi" instead of a kid who needs professional help and better parents. Honestly the best i could hope for is his teachers reforming him and his classmates teaching him how to be a decent human being

Bakugo_ no problem,  i really wanted to say that for a long time but didnt because i thought the bnha fandom was full of people who either hated him because they didnt understand him or loved him for the wrong reasons and unfortunately still didnt understand him

Steven Universe is boring and so bland... the character designs are like chewed gum? Steven is anyway...  Pearl is more like pulled Gum. I tried so hard to like it, for a while I almost did, but not even Amethyst could keep me hooked. I seriously don’t get the hype??

^totally understandable tbh the bland designs are rather boring and even I have to add my own style twist to make my rocks look semi-decent...

Eggs are good, but I think that the egg concept has been overdone on character design a bit? Like, I like eggs too but I see an egg theme almost every other day and it’s just like e n o u g h

Still don't understand what the big deal about bts is like...

They are bland and generic and remind me of every single K-pop band I used to be into back I  2014 

My friend just showed me their music videos and I felt like I've seen it all before...of course I was respectful and pretended to enjoy it...and I've had talks about their music with another friend and how "deep" their music is

But people out here treating it like it's the only k-pop group to ever exist and if you don't dry heave at bts' feet then you're a monster
