+1 on most of this, not sure how I feel about "LF friends" threads being in "promotions" as if it's some kind of trade deal lol, but I guess the only other alternatives I can think of would be putting it in "general chatter" which doesn't really work either. So idk.

Some of the forum section could use some splitting up. With how fast some subforum goes thanks to the increase in users a lot of threads gets buried in favor of more trendy ones.
Edit: Additional suggestion from 216th that could work in tandem with the rework: Have each category foldable on the main forum page (kinda like how spoilers work) so it's neater/easier to hid subforums you don't often frequent)

| Separating written commissions from the rest of the art marketplace because of how much they are at a disadvantage right now, a lot of people think it doesn't belong in the art marketplace for some reason? so having a Book marketplace just for writers sounds necessary. Also adding a Bazaar for more specialized "non-drawing" commissions (Plushies, dolls, music etc) would be nice too! I though moving Adopt Shelters away from the freebie section would make more sense too since you need to give OCs to gain currency to then use said currency in order to get a new OC back from a sheleter, it's not free and more of a trade with extra steps. | |

| A complete split of Ganeral and Site subforum would work well if there were to be the option to hide/collapse subforums. The introduction board would have the introduction board from the help section pinned here and would be the place for both "im new here" threads and "lf friend" threads. You could also make your own intro thread outside of the master thread could go there if people want that General chatter would have most of what the current G&OT has but with side forum to make it less clogged. Memes, "lol random" and shitpost threads would go into the Shitpostbin and Threads looking for/giving invite codes as well as discord promotion would have it's own subforum too. (The promotion forum could also be used for Artfight threads that are known to flood the G&OT during summer) The Site subforum would mostly have unchanges cathegory expt the addition of the Bug repport thread as I feel like bug report threads gets buried by suggestions? It could also help finding/linking people to known bug thread+fixes whenever they post about it in the help section like the gallery number bug and such! | |

SherbetToons yeah I wasn't entirely sure were to put it either tbh? I know a few people were/are tired of them being in the general/want it to be only one master thread (there's a LF for friend master thread every year but it never get massively used I feel?) Unless perhaps it had it's own section paired with the introduction boards pinned in it?
this isn't a foolproof rework tbh. there's will always be something to fight about XD like once artfight roll around Im sure we will still have wars about it even with the reworks like "the Promotion section is full of art fight threads and i cant look for discord/friend thread myeeeeh!"

Cosmind I suppose there could be a category dedicated to LF friends posts? Maybe a category dedicated to things like introduction posts, LF friends posts, that kind of thing? iirc there is a "introduce yourself here!" thread that is pinned in General & Off-Topic (Edit: Actually it's in the help&questions board), but idk how much people actually use it or read through it. I'm not sure whether Discord servers would be put there or in the promotions category.
(also yeah, I get that all the time, but "Sherbet" is the correct spelling where I am!)
+1! Especially in character discussions where instead of talks about character development, suggestions, help, or anything that is really about discussing characters, it's filled with fave/headcannon/subs exchange (nothing wrong with it, its just too much).
It would be nice to have a separate category for them, same for RP ones which they should have their own category too. Especially for those who are not into joining worlds and prefer character interactions by forum. People keep using world function just to find people to roleplay with than people showing their worlds.
0 because while I agree with giving threads like fave4fave threads and oc shelters their own sections to avoid other threads getting buried, layout-wise it'd probably just clutter the forums even further, unless each forum gets grouped into pages, though it's up to anyone if this is a good idea. Idk if it's just me, but I can't tolerate cluttered pages because it tends to disorient my mind, especially if the forums have been reworked like this.
ScarletBloodmoon pretty much yeah! Right now there are many subforum where users are upset that there's "too much of X so any thread about Z get's buried". Separating things a little could help both type of threads thrive on a more equal footing.
Especially in subforum like Worlds which is supposed to be about TH worlds but being nothing but Seeking Discord-RP/promoting Discord group and TH worlds being almost nowhere to be seen in a subforum meant for them specifically TToTT
+1, but i don't think its possible for one mod to moderate more boards. Sudo desperately need more mods, before considering creating more work for them self. Even if it's just splinting up current boards, it will still be more to do. Though, I think the forums need this desperately, since toyhouse has grown since the categories where made.
Also I think Service reviews should just be named PSAs at this point, that's all its used for.
On one hand, that's a lot of topics and I'm iffy on the forums getting harder to pick through. On the other hand, having dumping grounds for spam threads is definitely +1
I think a nice QOL addition would be the option to close/fold(?) forum categories? And just reveal/pin the ones you regularly use, so the people who like neatness would have a nice small forum section to look through, and we'd also have the benefits of more categories for others that want them
