Hello!

I really love the idea of being able to keep track of characters and who owns who, but there's the problem of, once the character is handed over to the person, they then have the option to delete the character off the website...

It'd be nice for creators of characters, if they can choose whether or not the current owner is able to delete the character (and maybe another option to allow them to hide the character?) , since some might want to build up a portfolio of character designs they've made and sold for future reference, if they get customers that want to commission them to make a character for them, then they can see what they have done in the past by showing them their previous adoptables~

Would be cool with a drop down menu like you have with "design tradeability" but instead it's something like "Character visibility" with options like:

  • Cannot hide or delete
  • Can hide
  • Can hide or delete

I just think it'd be a great option, just like with the other menu! I hope it's not too much of an ask ah, but thank you for reading!

absolutely not. sometimes people leave the site. sometimes people need to go into hiding. its their character, they can do what they want with it

-1 from me. once you’ve given away a character, you also give away ownership. for example, if you sell a car, you can’t just tell someone, “oh, you can’t sell this car after I sell it to you”. you’ve already given it away.

You sold it, you don't own it anymore. It's literally not yours. You have no say in what people do or don't do with it. Best Buy can't sell me printer and then tell me what I can or can't print with it.

You want a portfolio? Weebly, Neocities, Deviantart, Wix, Artstation, Inkblot, Instagram, Etc etc etc.

Your portfolio does not come at the cost of other people's freedom.

-1 like everyone said before, you no longer own the character. If it's that much of a hassle to remember what you did and did not sell, rename the folder or image to "Sold Adopt" or "Adopt to be Sold". Its on you to remember what you did and did not sell, not the consumer/buyer.

You Sold the adopt and no longer have any power or right as to what your design is used for or how it is used. If the user who bought it for any price at all at whatever time whenever can do anything they like with it, even delete the character.
