Issues with anchors?

OKAY so even though I set my profiles to Legacy mode, they're kinda... on the broken side.

My specific problem is that it doesn't seem like anchors are working for me. For example, Istra here has been set back to Legacy, but when I click on the buttons in their profile (checked on Chrome as well which doesn't have anything weird installed so I don't think the issue is NoScript or anything like that) they don't take me to said sections. Which is a very big issue because if those buttons don't function, you can't see anything on their (or many of my other characters') profile except for their summary!!! Which is very not good because my profiles have loads of section with loads of info!!!

Here's a screencap of some of their code so you can see what the anchors look like in case anything's gotten doinked up and weird there from my unwitting setting-switching shenanigans:

However, on profiles I haven't switched to Legacy yet - like Felicity here - anchors seem to work perfectly fine?? But as soon as I switch to Legacy anchors stop working, even if I switch back. Not super sure what's going on there. You can see her code here, which as you can see isn't really any different from Istra's so...??? Now granted it's pretty in-character that Felicity's profile still "works" despite being horrifically broken...

Is there some kind of new alternative to anchors or something? Do anchors just Not Work with the new site coding? Do they just specifically not work with Legacy? Is there any way around that, or am I just kinda Super Extremely Screwed and need to find a new layout entirely? Is this not enough information to really be helpful??????? I am dying???????????????????? Thanks

Pastebin links of the full HTML for both profiles for troubleshooting purposes:

i'm looking at your source code and it appears the switch to legacy is literally eating the anchor coding... i can very clearly see it there in your screenshot, but when i view the actual source code on the page it's not there

i can investigate this but it'll take me some time to get to it. if anyone else is around that feels comfortable trouble shooting this you can share the coding with them, since it's an old legacy layout i don't mind

wicked That's... pretty bonkers! Don't worry about time, I know you've gotta be Super Busy with the new site shenanigans and I don't pump out profiles Too frequently anyway because I'm lazy, so I can live with things being broken for a while!

Thank you so much for the permission to post coding, though! I've gone ahead and uploaded all of the HTML for both of the linked profiles to Pastebin in case it helps anyone figure out what's going on, and I'll go plug those into the first post. If anyone needs the CSS also to troubleshoot I'll upload that as well and share it privately, but I figure it's best to not just post Everything publicly (and let me know if posting all of the HTML publicly like this isn't cool for the record, I'll edit it out either way when/if the problem is solved):

i just went and tried to make and anchor real quick and they don't seem to be working - no matter which way i try to make it, the site eats the anchor's coding. i've seen this happen on the old site and it only effected certain areas of the site so idk if it's a bug or what, i did report it to an admin so will find out soon enough!

I've had it happen with my profile code after being foolish enough to turn off legacy to see how the new coding looks...(also wow I just commented here and the comment didn't post lol)

Isoprene

KnightOfSpring Yeah, I mentioned it in the Vent Board but didn't repeat it here but I some how turned off Legacy mode universally when I went to change to not-Legacy on one profile + my user profile to see how it looked; if I don't touch anything then anchors still work but if I change back to Legacy then nothing works even if I change back to not-Legacy, which is the really weird thing here! Makes me wonder if anchors were working on my profiles before I foolishly clicked about... clenches fist......
