Generally speaking, calamies are individuals which differ from each other in many aspects, however, there are traits which they all share. Except for their biological shared traits, such as wings, anthro legs, or light body structure, they share a lot of other characteristics as well. A lot of them are social, behavioral, personal, or even sexual.
One of these is their mentality, their values are mostly similar because they all are raised in the same mindset. They also share a culture background. As in any society, they are divided into classes according to their wealth and education. There is an upper class (royalty, aristocracy, prominent calamies, etc), a middle class (the most numerous), a lower class less educated calamies, calamies of crafts, etc), and an underclass (unemployed, criminals, outcasts, etc).
What is interesting is that calamies do not have any religion, they are religionless society, where reason and logic are valued, however they yet have spirituality in their society. They value nature and believe in the afterlife. There is also a lot of plants, items, and animals that are perceived as objects of spirituality (have hidden magical/cultural meaning).
Plenty of behavior calamies share they inherited from birds. They like to build themselves beds which remind of nests, they like to bath in puddles, and their diet consist mainly of plants, seeds, roots, insect, and fruits.
