In case your artwork needs any changes (e.g. a trait is not properly displayed), you have time until the deadline to fix that.

Hello everyone!
Welcome to the first Turn-In event for this species. I decided to host this event for the sake of giving people the chance to create their own Calami for free and also to find more people joining our community. As mentioned, this event is for free, meaning that you don't need a MYO ticket to participate.

Love can be such a wonderful feeling, right? And everyone has their very own definition of what love is. For some, it is a deep and tender feeling of affection towards that one person that fills their tummy with butterflies; while for others, it is the endless satisfication they feel after eating their favourite sweets. And just like us, every Calami has their own individual definition of love.
Now, tell me about what fills your Calami's heart with that exciting emotion.
Task: Draw your Calami interacting with something they love. It can either be someone else's Calami(es), an object - whatever they cherish. Please keep in mind to draw at least one flat-coloured halfbody.
OR
Task: Write a love letter in the name of your Calami for someone they love. If you're Calami isn't coupled, you can either write about what love means to your Calami. Please keep in mind to write at least 600 words.
Important Information

∙ This prompt ends on February 28th. Please make sure to send your entry to miulli or sharkimi either here or on Discord via private message until said time. In other words, this item functions as a MYO ticket; however, please keep in mind that the offspring has to have similar features and feather patterns as their parents. In addition, the offspring can only have the same traits its parents has. Just as importantly, this item comes with partial permission, meaning that you're allowed to trade or gift it. Zimawi is here - albeit being the toughest season on the Calamian planet, it also brings all Calamies closer together. The Light Festival celebrates the ancient souls of all Calamies who are long vanished, being with their loved ones and appreciating life, before all that winter has taken will eventually return in spring. While all four tribes have their own traditions, to every Calami it means the same things - unity, cohesion and love.
Well, let's get to have our Calamies celebrate the most important holiday of the year!
Important Information
If you do not own a Calami yet, you have permission to use my Calami Erin for your entry - she belongs to the Air tribe. However, if you have the owner's permission, you may also use someone else's Calami.
Task: Draw your Calami celebrating the Light Festival by decorating their home tree with various items. You can find a guide down below for each tribe's tradition, but you may also come up with your own ideas and even explain them with a few words. You can either include your Calami in your artwork or just draw their decorated home - it's up to you!

∙ During this prompt, there will be four additional Urgent Quests, which will be announced in our Discord server on the 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd December. Each Urgent Quest needs to be done within three days and will earn you 100 - 150 CC.
∙ Drawn entries may be coloured sketches, as I acknowledge that drawing a background can be rather time consuming.

Prices
For this prompt, we have prepared something special, as there will be two main prices besides the Calami Coins you can earn.
By participating in the December prompt, you'll have the chance to win one secret Calami adopt by sharkimi or one fully rendered bustshot of your Calami by miulli. Both prices will be raffled off among all participants independantly.
In addition, finishing at least three Urgent Quests will earn you one Trait Upgrade from the Special Item Shop - feel free to click the link in order to find out more about special items. The Trait Upgrade comes with partial permission, meaning that you are able to gift or trade it. You can track all your Special Items here.
Tribe Traditions
Calamies of the Air Tribe decorate their Big Tree and their homes with lanterns, self-made accessoires made out of pine cones, strings and wooden pearls, as well as windbells and transparent spheres made out of glass. They do avoid decorating the Big Tree with candles, as it is too risky for them to have any open fire nearby.
Calamies of the Forest Tribe decorate their houses and nearby standing pinetrees with mistletoes, dried flowers with wooden candleholders, which they carved themselves and later adapted to be fireproofed. They do, however, only places candles inside their homes, where it's save for them to burn. In addition, Calamies of the Forest tribe knot coloured ribbons onto the branches of trees standing nearby.
Calamies of the Sea Tribe decorate their homes with self-made accessouries made out of pearls and silk as well as hanging up transparent spheres made out of glass with blue, purple and/or white silk strings attached to them. They also light up paper laterns and set them onto the waters of the lake their village is built around.
Calamies of the Fire Tribe decorate their tents and houses with strings of coloured, transluscent fabrics, ribbons and extravagant torches. They also carve little wooden houses to place incense cones inside them, which they put all around their area. Although the Fire Tribe usually does not like celebrating the same holiday their enemy does, they cherish the Light Festival just as much as all the other clans and highly value their traditions.

It is time to make your Calami part of a tribe they're not initially part of!
Task: Draw your Calami in clothings that would fit one of the tribes they're not initially part of. Example: Your Calami belongs to the Air tribe, so you can draw them in an outfit that would either fit the Forest, Sea or Fire tribe. It's one week until Halloween and your Calami still didn't manage to find a proper custom yet - what a disaster! How are they supposed to frighten other Calamies into giving them sweets without a spooky custom? And let's be honest - who wants to miss the chance to get yummy sweets?
It's time to give your Calami a proper Halloween custom to get all the sweets out there! 🎃
Task: Draw your Calami wearing a spooky Halloween costume! You can either draw them frightening someone, eating some Halloween sweets or just them vibing in their costume. As long as they're wearing a Halloween costume and it's Halloween related, you can come up with anything you like!

Task: Write about your Calami dressing up with a spooky Halloween costume! Describe how their Halloween costume looks like and about a Halloween activity they do.

Fall event 2021
Hello everyone!
The "Fall Event 2021" is here, filled with tasks and prompts you can do in order to win amazing prices! The good thing is that no one leaves this event with empty hands, which surely makes it even more exciting.
Let me explain how this event works.
The event will last for two weeks. In each week, there are two tasks. By doing each task, you will earn Calami Coins (CC), that you can trade for MYO tickets, trait upgrades, re-design potions and love potions. You can either just do one task or all of them - just as many as you like!
EXTRA PRICE: Every participant will receive a number, depending on how many tasks they did. At the end of this event, I will chose one number with a randomizer. The winner will receive one common MYO ticket, that comes with partial permission (trade / gift) and never expires.

rules
- In case of art-related tasks, we do not tolerate tracing, theft and usage of bases. The art has to be 100% yours. If we catch you violating these rule, you will be banned for six months for future events, and you will lose your price(s).
- For drawn entries, you must draw at least a lined and fully colored bust with a background. Please refrain from using just a solid color as a background and include at least a selfmade pattern.
- For written entries, you must write at least 600 words for prose, and at least 15 lines for poetry. For prose, your entry has to include at least one Calami. For poetry, it has to be at least Calami-related, including specific Calamies is a free choice.
- If you'd like to use someone else's Calami(es), please make sure to ask them about permission!
- You, of course, can send your entries into the Discord server #fall-event-2021. However, for approval you need to send a private message to miulli.
how to participate
To participate in the event, you must finish at least one task. The finished tasks can be only sent in for approval during the week the tasks are active.
To send in your finished task(s) for approval, send a private message to miulli only. To make it easier, I'd like you to include a title with the form "Week (Number)". Also, please provide links for each task, if needed.
Once that is done, miulli will let you know if your entry is valid and matches the guidelines. If something is not right, she will let you know what has to be changed. Changes have to be done within three days, after you received the message about what has to be changed.
If your entry is valid, miulli will tell you how many CC you earned and will add them to your bank account.
week one
23rd September - 30th September
The leaves are changing their color from green to all shades of red, orange and yellow. Herpo is coming and many Calamies start collecting leaves, chestnuts, sticks and other natural materials to craft their own fall decoration. It's also a common tradition for Calamies to include their own feathers into their decoration and gift it to someone that is very special to them.
Task 1 - Your Calami is collecting all kinds of things for their own fall decoration - chestnuts, acorns, sticks and many other things. Draw or write about your Calami doing said activity! (+500 CC)
Task 2 - Answer the following questions. What is the Calamian word for "fall"? What are the average temperatures during fall in the Calamian world? (+50 CC)

1st October - 7th October
Your Calami has spent all week to find the materials they need. Now it's time to craft the fall decoration! What does your Calami do with what they crafted? Do they gift it to someone else? Do they hang it up in their own house or on the tree branches outside?
Task 1 - Your Calami is crafting fall decoration - little animals made out of sticks and chestnuts, chains made with leaves and strings and so much more. Write or draw about your Calami crafting fall decoration OR write or draw about your Calami gifting some decoration to someone they really care about. (+500 CC)
Task 2 - Erin the clumsy Calami dropped all the chestnuts she collected for her Calami decoration - what a disaster! Can you find all of the five chestnuts, that she scattered all over the Calami world here on toyhou.se? (+10 CC for each chestnut)

Hello Everyone!
As many of you may have noticed, the species has been very quiet these past few months. First of all, we would like to apologize for the lack of activity from our side. There are quite a few people in our species that seem to enjoy our small community a lot and we are really grateful for that. Thus, we can understand that some of you may be sad about the silence that was going on for a while.
However, sharkimi and myself did some work behind the scenes and talked a lot about how we would like to administrate the species in the upcoming future. Don't worry - both of us are continuing the species as admins, meaning nothing changes here. The main thing that will change the way we keep the species going is the organisation, as sharkimi will put her main focus on the artistic side (drawing adopts, header images for events etc.) and I, miulli, will put my main focus on the textual side (organizing events, creating and writing down the species lore etc.) Though, we will keep working hand by hand, meaning everything that we do is being discussed with each other in private. By that, both of each other become a bit more independant, while we still continue to work together. We are looking forward to increase our activity regarding the species.
Another change, which will be mainly done by me, is affecting the Calamian lore. After presenting the idea to sharkimi, I decided to divide the species into four clans. This change is not affecting any trait and its rarity, yet each clan will have their individual features such as politics, connections with other clans, living areas etc. I am more than excited to finally go into details and show it to everyone, so I am trying to work on an information sheet as soon as possible. I will be doing a general information sheet first, which briefly introduces each clan, before I will be creating one for each clan. I cannot wait to see in which clan everyone of you will put their Calamies in!
In addition, I will be preparing another event for this summer and I really hope many of you will take part in it, as there will be lots of really cool prices to win!
Both of us hope that our species and community will continue to grow, and we know that we will have to work really hard for this.
However, we're looking forward to the future and cannot wait to show you what we've been working on.
