I also have this prince from my sci-fi verse who is from an insectoid alien race. He's part of a subspecies that has adapted to life underwater and ended up pretty amphibious. I honestly got really attached to this guy, even though he got like ..maybe two/three story scenes written for him total. He's supposed to be a king now and due for a redesign, but one day I'll get around to it.
Okay so I don't know if you mean by 'likes sitting by the poolside" as in they have to be aquatic creatures or something, but Mamon is a demon pirate and basically lives on the sea with his half demon pirate boyfriend Jacquel!
It's ironic that Mamon is a terrible swimmer though. But he's getting better!
