How Warrior Cat Names Work - You have a prefix and a suffix. The prefix is given to a kitten at birth by their parents. For the majority of the time, it's something that describes their looks. For example, a white kitten may be called Cloudkit or Snowkit, while a ginger kit may be called Lionkit or Firekit. Suffixes are given to warriors, which are young adult cats. They usually describe their personality or their looks even further. For example, a fierce ginger cat may be called Fireclaw or Sunslash, while a calm dark grey cat may be called Greycloud or Nightpool. Here is where you can find a list of prefixes and suffixes (to the right you can find links to traditional and nontraditional prefixes/suffixes) and here are all the canon names in the series for examples.
