He has death powers he doesn't want, accidentally murdered his own dad that he loved and has generally abysmal luck in most areas of life.
Lets see some characters that just aren't having a good time.
Characters that got screwed over, or they are just nervous wrecks, or something.
Zie for sure, when I think miserable characters they definitely pop up, although their twin sibling Gie is pretty damn sad to (A gothic emo, if you will)
I have a LOT of sad characters, here's a list
- Nadda has a case of "I don't know what I am so i'm always dissociating and sad about it"
- Neo has an ability that makes her a living glitch, she also glitches out reality around her so she finds herself in a spot where she can't make friends without hurting them, she is very sad
- Sheepa isn't as much of a sobstory, he feels average compared to his peers and he's a little less confident than the usual
- Arkota is from a sort of blood related mafia. To cope with it, he's become somewhat emotionless and apathetic towards things, but he wants to feel more so whenever he does think he IS feeling something he makes an abstract painting
- Iraris is also from the same family as Arkota, he's grown up and his life is just sad about the life he's brought into, or "lack of" might be another word for it
- Kalliome is from a society of warriors, each from a different element. He's shadow, which has really bad stigma about it, with parents who were previously heroes, he feels a need to be perfect and his element definitely doesn't help with it.
- Dr. Jellyborg once failed all her friends and family trying to save the world and now lives alone, surrounded by robots she made, she never stops working to keep any negative emotions away
Zekiel is pretty miserable. literally everything he does, somehow ends him up in trouble. His very presence makes other people around him stronger than him, and he can't turn that ability off, so it causes problems for him. he tries to stay out of fights, because he's always sure to lose, simply by being around the person fighting him
Dude had a lot of shit happen to him and I'll let him pass as miserable. He isn't negative about it, but...yeah, his past changed him. If he would not have any sons, he'd be a pretty sad person and would have lost his entire personality.

- His mom wasn't home often, and also jobless. He does not remember her face well, she often was gone. He always assumed she was out drinking, or doing drugs. Vividly, he recalls she at one point came home smelling like crack.
- He got bullied for not having a lot of friends in school and growing up poor.
- During his time in school, his mother committed suicide, by a drug overdose. This caused his dad to drop out of his job. And due to that, he got bullied even more. Around that time, he grew somewhat tired of this shit and started fights with them. He often came home with bruises, and at one point he even had a broken arm. The teachers ignored the bullying and blamed it on Viktor, who 'always started the fights and had it coming'.
- Applied for countless jobs, always got rejected. This forced him to enter the illegal underground racing scene. He made a name there, but it took long.
- During this time, he entered a relationship with a woman called Elisa. This was when he was 22. They conceived a kid, Silas. Elisa tried to file for sole custody, claiming Viktor was abusive and often beat Elisa and her son up. The court found no evidence of it (alas, how should there be evidence if it didn't happen in the first place?) and ruled in Viktors favor. After the case, Elisa vanished and wasn't seen anywhere.
- It took him ten years to make a name in the scene. During this time, he started and ended a lot of relationships. One of them was with a woman called Irena. Their relationship, too, ended, when Irena called him an abusive asshole. This was when he was 25.
- Irena returned to Viktor when he was 37 years old. She found out his adress over excessive stalking. Once she arrived at his house, she tried to kill him. In the attack, Viktor lost the pinky on his left hand and the pinky and ring finger on his right hand. Also: Now has a nasty scar on his left hand when he tried to block an attack out of reflex. Got his facial scars when he got slashed with a butterfly knife and hit with a bottle. The bottle also knocked him unconcious.
- Small timeskip: In the hospital, he also found out he has a second son, Ezekiel-Ares. His and Irenas son.
- Also found out there that Irena committed suicide.
- Besides that, his best friend died when he was drunk driving. (I...don't have a time when that happened. Maybe when he was 33 or sth?) His best friend (who helped him make a name in the scene) hit a wall at high speed and died on impact. The worst thing? He also hit a small child. He was one of the first to arrived on the scene, as both him and his best friend were about to meet up at the cinema to watch a movie. This was the moment where he stopped drinking alcohol.

- Used to be a 12 y/o kid but ultimately killed himself via hanging due to bullying.
- Got his soul snatched by some angel-lady thing and forced into some 'ascension' procedure where he'll be turned into a god.
- During said procedure, ended up having HIS SOUL yeeted out of his body after angel-lady's misandrist mother and replaced with some appendage from the ancestor of all eldritch deities, thus making him a clone, if anything.
- Said 'new soul' (keep in mind Marcus' body now hosts it) had a temper tantrum for four hours and thus ended up stabbing his cousin and 'creating' some other eldritch god.
- Got emotionally/physically abused by angel-lady's mom because he was a male creation god among many other... reasons. I won't go into too much detail but whatever it was it shaped him into the person he is today.
- Memories wiped by angel-lady of what happened during the ascension thing.
- Got targeted 600 years later by her because he was becoming "too much like Odes'a" and thus needed to be 'put down.' Mason goes into a coma due to the traumatic injuries and thus would've been forcefully turned into a Bless'd (read: horrifyingly ugly angel slave) if it wasn't for his twin saving him.
- Came back a year later and killed her, committing genocide against said Angels (keep in mind in my 'verse they're like these eldritch beings of light similar to how they're depicted in the Book of Enoch), ripping out some other Angel's eye as 'karma.'
- Often gets targeted by other eldritch entities due to his status as a Primordial One.

My current D&D character is Not Having a Good Time lately - stationed in a super corrupt mercantile city that's bringing up Bad Memories and making her question her faith; only leaving to face mortal terror. Learning that her holy order has some shady stuff going on. Her next outing will require travel by air, and she's afraid of heights :^)
even though he's Trying to make himself less of a wreck, auberon really is the most miserable of my characters. he just has a sad face all on his own - he practically oozes Giant Sad Boy energy even when he's laughing or having a great time.
