RULE UPDATE [8/5/2022]

Wow, it's another item exchange thread, how creative. But, let's do the usual, but with your character giving gifts to the character below them. How good are they at gifting? Let the character below them decide! Presents can be anything, within reason of the rules. Maybe it'll be a cute little teddy bear, or a Nintendo Switch, or an avocado. Who knows!

RULES AND GUIDELINES:

  • Keep NSFW to a minimum -- suggestions, implications, and innuendos are generally fine, but keep in mind that minors have access to this thread.
    • Romantic gifts are not allowed in this thread for the sake of not knowing who is going to respond to you -- we don't want any minor characters receiving to romantic gifts from an adult! That's a little weird!
      • If you are responding to the person above, and you want to make the interaction romantic, you may. However, both characters must be adults.
    • Sensitive or gory interactions are also allowed, but must be put under a spoiler or blacked out.
  • Remember to post IC! The IC button is on top of the field where you write your post, just switch it on and select the character you wish to use.
  • There is a three sentence minimum in your response to the person above you!
    • As a suggestion, however, please try to keep posts here relatively short. This is meant to be a little more low-effort than my usual threads!
  • You may only post every three posts or three days after the last post, not three days after your own.
    • Example: [You] [x] [x] [x] [You] or You [x] [x] [three days pass] [You]
  • You may post a "claim" to avoid getting sniped, but please do not take too long on it!
    • You will be pinged here with a reminder after twelve hours of an unfinished claim. After twenty-four hours of an unfinished claim, you can be skipped by the next person.
  • You must prove that you have read the post that you have responded to. Your post must contain elements of the post above and/or the above character's information. No one wants a post where their character is barely -- or worse, not at all -- acknowledged.
  • Be kind to your fellow players, but know that in-character views are not their own out-of-character. Just because their character's rude to yours doesn't mean they themselves feel that way!
    • Do not skip over users who have you blocked or who you have blocked. Wait for someone else to respond to them before posting.
  • I supervise this thread as much as I can, but if you spot problems, please either DM or ping me.

Queen Titania LostPocong

Looking Aris’ present, Titania exclaimed, “Wow, these are very cute, thank you!” Normally, Titania was suspicious of anyone giving her a present. She’d usually just assume the only reason someone would give her one, is because they wanted something in return, but the giftee’s enthusiasm convinced her that he had no such ulterior motives. She put on the blue-yellow stripped pair and asked, “How do I look? I’ll probably only wear them in my palace, I don’t wear shoes, so they’d get dirty and tear if I went outside with them. Maybe I’ll enchant them though…”

“I have something very special for you,” Titania said while handing you a package wrapped in a velvet bow… and studded with gemstones for some reason. Opening the package revealed a crescent moon axe with a black bronze head. It’s handle was made of silver and decorated with bands of platinum. “Try it out! I made it just light enough so someone your size could wield it effectively.” The axe was fairly heavy, but surprisingly ergonomic, feeling like an extension of your arm. “It’s enchanted too! It will never rust or lose sharpness and can even cut through stronger materials like steel. Oh, and if you don’t like it, you can just sell it, the materials alone make it pretty valuable.”

Maurice Fuchs Vapor

Maurice was a simple man. A simple, "pacifistic" man, and so when the package was placed in his hands, surprised by the heaviness of the parcel but otherwise pleased with the prospect of getting something nice. But then, his expression turned to panic as he lifted the lid off the box and was met with the sight of an axe. Which wasn't that terrible of a gift, considering where he lived, but the one problem was that, well, he hadn't used a melee weapon since...

"I don't even remember the last time I've taken up a sword," the elderly man said to her, "And never an axe, madame... or, you're a miss, is that right? Nevermind that... This is, ah..."

Well, it certainly sounded useful, and looked the part, too. But then, there was talk of money. In just a flash, he perked up at mention of the axe having been crafted from valuable materials, though part of him wondered if anyone would ever dare put a price on it. An auction, perhaps, would be best in the case of pulling in cash. Cash that Maurice so desperately needed, considering the strain the rebellion's efforts put on his medical resources. No more would he have to purchase poorly-crafted gauze or make his own sutures out of plants or horsehair. And, sure, from a weapon standpoint, it wasn't bad at all, but... with it, they could probably buy a fair number of armaments for everyone else, should his brother or his friend pipe in with their own suggestions...

Though, Maurice also had to worry about it being enchanted. He sincerely hoped no one would come and beat the shit out of him for what was technically witchcraft, as labeled by law. Maybe if he just lied and said it was made of some funky material instead, all would be right with the world. And his head.

"My sincerest gratitude to you, miss." he sighed, "It will serve well in the war efforts, whatever happens to it from here on. My brother isn't here, but assume he sends his best regards as well. This is far too generous of you."

..It was just too bad that he could probably need something like this in the future, but oh well!

"There isn't much that I can give, considering the circumstances." said Maurice to the other party, as he led them into the cold, stone room. He glanced out the window overlooking Laojin's courtyard, before looking into the cabinet pushed against the wall. "But, given you came all the way out here, I think it would be cruel to let you go without something..."

After a few seconds, he took a small package out of the cabinet. It was... a package of cigars. Flavored cigars, to be more exact -- printed on the label was a watermelon.

"Hopefully this will suffice." he said, as he held the box out to them, "If not, then I'm sure there's something else. I might still have raspberry tea or a few caramels left, but... That's assuming the girl hasn't helped herself to them."

Ethan Wilhelm PicklePantry

Ethan wouldn't be lying if he'd said he was disappointed to know nothing here was romantic. You'd think the poor guy would be used to it by now. He did, however, gape when he saw the large and very beautiful bouquet of roses held out to him. "Oh wow," he breathed, taking in all the colors. Each one was so vibrant, and the flowers themselves were amazing! Even with his distance he could smell how lovely it, well, smelled!
"For me? Really?" he asked. A bouquet of good luck, he could definitely use that.
He reached out to grab it.
A strong gust of wind blew and knocked it out of both of their hands.
Ethan looked down at the bouquet. W-Well, it was still--
Another strong gust of wind blew it away from him when he bent down to get it.
A bird pooped on him.
"... Y-You know what? I'm... I'm good," Ethan chuckled dismally.

"It's the season of giving, right? I got something at the store the other day, and I think you might like it!" Ethan beamed. He held out the item to you. It was a snow globe! Inside was a little snowman with a top hat standing next to a tiny, lit up log cabin. "Isn't it cute?"

Levi ThatDoggo

Levi’s face lit up when he saw the little snowman in the snow glove. He examined it fully in awe before saying, “thank you so much! Yeah, I-I love it!” He shook it for a few minutes and then re-gathered himself, snapping back to reality. “Woah. I’m gonna keep this forever!” He loosened his grip on the snow globe unknowingly in excitement and nearly dropped the thing, feeling it slightly move in its hand. “That would’ve been a disaster,” he laughed to himself, “that’s a good sign I should just.. not hold this anymore..”

Levi perked up when he saw you, realizing it was now his turn to give a gift. “Uh.. I didn’t have a ton of time to wrap it, if it could even be wrapped,” he exhaled a little through his nose as a sort of laugh and half-smiled, “but still, I hope you like it!” He grabbed the present and put it behind his back. He didn’t realize that he was holding it right out in the open beforehand, but he was really trying for it to be a surprise. “Here you go!” He held out a small blue, purple, yellow, and red beaded bracelet. The colors seemed to match but not quite. It was neatly made you could tell, though. “I used a few colors hoping that at least one of them would be your favorite color. That and I was running out of a lot of colors of beads.” He unclasped it and handed it to you gently, looking for signs of approval from you. “I could.. help you put it on, too, if you need!” he smiled.

Midha Delgado Vapor

Midha scuttled up to Levi the second a gift was mentioned, because in actuality, she was greedy and just wanted nice things. But... a bracelet?

The older woman looked down at the beaded bracelet offered to her, initially pondering whether or not to regift it to a certain someone, but that seemed a bit too dickish of a move, even for her... Although, if said certain someone pointed it out, she'd hand it over faster than a heartbeat. Still, taking the bracelet and slipping it on over her wrist, she uttered to Levi, "No thanks, kid, I don't need any help. And I mean, I like purple, so you're not wrong about that. That's awful sweet of you."

She held her hand out, admiring the jewelry in the sunlight. "I like it." she commented, offering a reserved smile even if for a moment, "It's pretty, isn't it? Or cute. I can't say I wear jewelry often, but it's probably fine as long as I save it for formal events... I mean, not that I attend many of those, you know? Only when the lord needs me."

"..Need to tighten it, though." she then added as she tugged slightly on the bracelet. "Are my arms just skinny?"

"Just don't tell me that you're one of those pansies who can't take a swig." Midha said to the other party. She held a glass bottle out to them, one filled with a classic golden liquid. Whiskey. Of course.

"Make an old-fashioned or a boozy lemonade with it, at least." she suggested, "Really recommend an old-fashioned, actually. I can just make one for you."

Veronica Pomegranarchy

"Oh, er... Do you have a thimble?" Trying to smile at Midha, Veronia flutters back and away from the far larger party. "I'd probably drown in that, and I'm not too fond of the idea of getting trapped in a bottle if you don't mind..."
Admittedly, practically everything being built for those far larger than herself is exactly why Veronica has done so little in her life. In this case, Veronica doesn't consider it too much of a disadvantage if it keeps her from having to down alcohol from a stranger. Hoping this particular stranger doesn't actually have a thimble, that is.

"I don't know your opinion on jewelry, or wrist size, for that matter, but..." The fairy huffs, barely able to hold on to the bundle of fabric in her arms. She gingerly lands on the other party's hand, or equivalent, and sets the gift down. It appears to be a thickly woven bracelet, made of cool-colored threads. The detail and preciseness of the bracelet is clear, with the weaves being tight, secure, and symmetrical in their design. When you see everything on a minuscule scale, making sure the threads align properly becomes much easier for tiny hands.

Veronica laughs gently, alighting to the air and blowing back a few paces to give the other the opportunity to examine the bracelet. "I don't really want to admit how long it took to make this- but I hope you like it!"

Ennette PicklePantry

Ennette's eyes widened at the bracelet given to her by the small fairy. "Oh wow!! It's so beautiful!! You really made this for me?" she gasped as she picked it up with her free hand. She took a moment to admire the threads, then fit it over her wrist, holding it out to examine it. "It's a perfect fit! I love this, thank you so much!"
When she looked at Veronica, her expression saddened. "I wish I had something to give you... Oh! Why don't I take you to the garden in my castle? There are a lot of flowers I'm sure you'd love!"

"Oh, I'm so glad I was able to catch you in time!" Ennette smiled despite the sweat over her face. It seems she ran all this way to get to you. After a moment of catching her breath, she pulled something out of her pocket and handed it to you. "It's a harmonica!" she exclaimed breathlessly, then blushed and shied away. "I was hoping... we could play a duet together sometime...?"

Nessy smlfall

"Oh, your highness," the man in black suit turned his gaze back, it's the princess back there. "May I question what's are you looking for?" She go this long, to get him; Nessy must be flattered. As the moment Nessy see the instrument, he immediately recognize it, of course, he've played it in those good young days (he's still young thought).

"My sincerest thank, your highness." Holding the gift close to his heart, "Shall we get to somewhere more well ventilated?" Ennette is all sweaty, so better sit down for some air a bit. Thought as Nessy lead the way, maybe they can play a tune or two there.

"I got a bit too much." Muttered Nessy as he open a waterproof paper, stayed inside are those tiny pink-shade cubes. "Himalaya red salt, I use them to soothe sore muscles of mine." He say with a smile, those pink thingies can also be served for witchcraft purposes; unfortunately, Nessy don't do that and brought numerous amount of salt with you isn't a good idea. "It could be used for bath too." As he offered the other party a pack.

Salvador Wapenburg fizzelston

Skeptical like always, Salvador studied every side of one of the cubes, before accepting it. As soon as he moved his arm, the smell of lavender filled the room. It was safe to say that the precious gift, the heavy lavender soap, was received in good spirits.
"My muscles are always sour," he told Nessy in his monotone voice. "Maybe this would help. Thanks," he said.
Something strange however happened, when Salvador pressed the cube against the skin of his arm. His Half-side reacted. Salvador stared as small sparks of dark energy sprung between his fingers, jumped eagerly towards the salt.
"Huh," he dryly commented. "Would you look at that."
--
"I got you some cheese," Salvador said. The small thief held out a small chunk of cheese, neatly wrapped in brown paper, into your direction.
"Goat cheese," he specified. "I used Geit's milk to make it."

Sal's face when Destiny said: "even if I can't actually eat this!"

Destiny yanderechips

"Cheese?" The child replied, looking at the small block of cheese held in front of her. It was just as big as her hands. (which were very small) "Thank you mister!" She smiled as she let out a childish laugh followed by a toothy grin. As she unwrapped the block, she took a small bite out of it, only for her bright blue eyes to light up. "Mmh, This is really good!" She stated, beginning to stuff her face with the rest of the cheese.

"Tell your goat I said thank you, even if I can't actually eat this!" Oh no.

--

Destiny had just gotten up from the small table where she was sitting and held out a big piece of paper up to you. It was a picture of your oc, just colored in crayons and next to some trees. "Here!" She stated, handing the picture towards you.

 Toxic Ura Mixed-Messages

Toxic looked down at the piece of paper she was given, examining it. She had slight trouble due to her terrible eyesight but she got the gist of it, smiling brightly under her brightly colored gas mask. She took a step back, letting out toxic fumes. She was careful not to let it spread over to child in front of her, relived that they were in a well-ventilated area.

She grunted at Destiny as to say ‘Thank you,’ stuffing the drawing in her pocket. She looked behind her before waving to her, booking it. She looked like she was running from something.

Toxic sat on the forest floor, various trash surrounding her. She finally got something from the tiny trash piles and slid it across to you. She grunted, eagerly waiting for a reaction. The object was a tiny box with a dirty sticky note on top that wrote; “fOUr nWE fIRenD” (for new friend) in a marker that probably was almost dry. Inside was a beautifully carved rock, a wing design stretched over it. She waved her hands, signing badly. ‘I found pretty rock, for you.’

Cyber KingDrago

Cyber stares at the rock, never before seeing something so... abstract. They spend a long time staring at the rock.. like a seriously long time. What are they doing? Cyber shifts their gaze to the note and their eyes flicker with confusion. The scrambled, messy letters don't line up with any written language in Cyber's lexicon. Congratulations! You have just confused a robot and now their just standing there... ---------- After waiting for what seems like eternity, something clicks in Cyber's head. It was a gift! For you! Based on what they have observed the appropriate course of action is to reciprocate the action of 'gift giving'. They motion for you to stay still while they run off. When Cyber returns they are holding a perfectly wrapped box. Inside is, a first aid kit?
