-ove user’s OCs?

There are not many forum prompts about attention to detail in OCs or art, so I am changing that. I love fine details and Easter eggs in media.

For this prompt, go to the OCs of the person above you. Look for fine details that seem to be common among their characters and post them here.

UPDATE: Focus mainly on Easter eggs, etc. If 24 hours pass, just describe the user’s work.

Art/Designs - I noticed that the character designs tend to be more effeminate. Most of them have hair that is long wavy or curly, brown or an unnatural colour, and is worn lose or is pulled back in a simple style. The designs tend towards being a medium complexity; they have some small details, but nothing extremely complicated or hard to replicate. A fair amount of them have pointed ears too. You also seem to like gold jewelry as a clothing detail. You seem to prefer muted palettes that have gold with green, and/or brown. Cream is also another go-to colour.

It seems like you might like doing redesigns too, basically editing the designs to better suit your style and preferences.

Profiles - Your profiles focus on getting the basics down and giving a synopsis on what they are all about vs. listing out every little detail about a character. Everyone feels very grounded. Sure there are fantasy elements for most of your OCs, but as people they feel realistic with how you've written their personalities and backstories.

You also seem to focus on character-building vs. world-building - granted you have way more written down about your OCs than the world's/AUs so I might be off the mark here. Most of them are connected to each other in some way and seem like they have well thought out relationship dynamics.

A far amount of them have traveling in their backstory. Whether they wanted to be where they are now, they all seem to be making a home for themselves in the location they found themselves in. You also don't always reveal the mysteries of their pasts. You instead introduce them in a way that adds a feeling of unknown to them.

I think you also have a tendency to make your OCs LGBT+ in some way? I wasn't counting while I was reading through profiles.

The first thing I noticed with your designs/ocs is that a lot of them have piercings! A lot of them have gold accents as well. A lot of swirly patterns on their clothing/fur, like Svein and Gold Digger. There are also a lot of characters with makeup around their eyes, esp ones w really interesting colors like silver and red. Lots of neutral colors, but there are some with brighter ones. Also noticed a lot of characters with elf/longer ears. Mostly humanoids.

I noticed a lot dark lineart throughout your pieces with varying linewidth. Your rendering/coloring kinda reminds me of watercolor. Most of your pieces had neutral/toned down colors mixed with bright ones. You render with a lot of interesting colors. A lot of the humanoid characters you drew had unique face, nose, and eye shapes, creating a lot of diversity throughout your work!

Your profiles are mostly lists, basic summaries, but they do a great job at explaining the character and their story.

Art & designs
Very anime-esque, lots of pastels or at least vibrant colors and some outfits that evoke a decora type style, another thing that stuck out was the voluminous or poofy hair you seem to like. Hard to pinpoint as you do have some variety, but they all feel equally as ornate when it comes to design. It compliments the colors you tend to use in your art when rendering either traditionally or digitally. The shiny highlights or colored lines are reoccurring as well. You definitely play genshin impact.

Character profiles
Distinct writing style that feels like I'm being told about the character by someone who knew them, makes a good summary and I appreciate the key details thrown in there.  Easy to get the gist of, I like your vocabulary. You seem to gravitate towards mysterious characters or those with a sense of otherness, at least it looks like it. Many are described as unusual in some way, their past tends to be obscured. There aren't a ton of profiles I can go off of, but most of your charcaters have this theme of being distant or disconnected which I think is interesting.

Art/design: Old school, retro, style, as if you are looking at a 50s poster and graphic design that time. Fits well with the setting of most of the characters. Utilizing pseudo-traditional brushes in art, like giving them more rough and texture feel on it. Sideburns galore, a lot of male aligned OCs have sideburns present, it might be a period-specific thing since it's popular during those times. Long heads/faces, yet still able to differenciate between other characters. Majority of the OCs have period specific clothes too, so they are mostly suits, ties, anything classy. A lot of them have kind of warm but muted flat colors, but they are well executed. I can see some uniqueness between non-human(oid) characters as each of them have different quirks and sillhouettes.

Story/lore:
I see you project your musical fixations onto your OCs, this is present within the Radiohead-inspired ones. It really shows that there's a personal connection with you, their songs, and the OCs themed around it. Bios may not be long, extensive, or may not be present at all depending on the character but there is enough details you can tell about them. From their interests and hobbies, some details about their personality, to really specific ones like the scent of characters. Most of the characters are either in the 50s, 60s, or the 70s era which it could give an impression you are really into old school media. A lot of the characters are around their 30s as well.

Art and Design:

Most of your ocs are goth. that's for sure. The only thing bright about a lot of them is their hair. I saw a few blondes, but most of the bright colors are "unnatural!" I also see a lot of video game inspiration in your oc profiles. I mainly associate pixel art with videogames, which you use a lot of. Your ribbons especially, they are like achievements! The Technomaniacs Coop is also like that!

Also, a lot of your ocs act interestingly, I think. A lot of them could be considered old, but they act as young people. Though, is that actually strange for the "alternative" style in the first place? Either way, I still find it interesting that an 86 year old man dresses in this way. Age does not stop your characters from dressing how they want

Story/lore:

All the vampire characters are from Greece, except for Evariste. I assume that's because he is only half of a vampire? If I'm right, I find interesting that that's their country of origin.

what the heck how did this gem of a forum game got buried for so long/lh

art/designs:
oh my. they already have a distinct vibe from the start, most notably the bright yet kinda pastel colors you use!! your characters seem to have a specific, playful palette in them, and honestly the cell-shading helps emphasize that too. you seem to be drawn to humanoids, but not necessarily your everyday humans as they cleary have unsual features [such as horns, unsual hair/skintones, etc]. outfits are relatively simple [in a good way, so it’ll be easier to draw them mutiple times], though they do have little fun details such as their accessories!

character bios:
your character name often leans to actual words and objects [snow blossom, jasmine, malice, indigo, circuit, etc], or sometimes just usual names. they’re usually simplier and easier to pronounce for sure! you use a common code for most of your profiles, and i love how each of them has a clear goal set for themselves. although i will say, there seem to be a common theme of characters trying to prove themselves of something, or trying to give protection for someone else’s sake. writing wise pretty straight foward i must say, though the kind that makes me even more curious about their ventures :]

np: i’m curious what you’ll think from here! but anything works :D

v ahaha thanks! the “side” characters are mostly just on the works, that’s all, writing takes a while for me oop [that’s why there’s a bio finished tag!]- :’D as for matteo, it’s more about him being excited about fish and proceeding to ramble about them but it ends up others being confused so he just say “it’s FISH.”

Oooo, your art is so pretty-

-Art/Character Designs-

I noticed you have a tenancy to lean into a sketchy/blocky style! You have a very specific color palette, you lean into something I like to call a pastel cottagecore palette. It's very nostaglic, and altogether reminds me of free computer games designed for kids learning to type on a computer (I mean that as a compliment btw).

-Bios-

I love the 'Little Notes' you have on your main cast, that's so adorable! You seem very lore-intensive on them, but on some of the side characters, there's nothing more than their names, or a few quotes. I'd love to know more about them, they all have such interesting designs! The quotes on Matteo's page cracked me up, especially "It's... FISH." (I want to know what's behind that, and why he seems so aggressive toward fish lol)

ART/CHARACTER DESIGNS

i see ur art style is pretty sharp w/ thin lineart, and pretty much all ur stuff is on traditional!! and there's a ton of furry/animal and colorful features on each of them, it kinda reminds me of those early 10s days where furry ocs had every single color combo imaginable (and it was AWESOME). also all of them have animalistic ears lolz. overall there's a lot of attention 2 detail especially in feathers n fur which is cool!!

BIOS

everything is rlly concise and separated into little paragraphs which is so damn REFRESHING. i am so tired of big ass paragraphs that blend into each other and aren't categorized into anything lol. not too much info in each character but i still get a pretty good idea of all of their personalities n mannerisms!! they do say less is more anyways lol. also just a lil question but how did lyell die and why'd they go 2 hell? or is that just a mystery 2 b solved lol
