Favourite artwork from the person above

Posted 6 years, 2 months ago (Edited 3 months, 23 days ago) by FellowPigeon

The rules of this game are pretty simple: look through the art of the person above, pick the one that is your favourite and write a bit about why you like it. Whether it's the colours, the composition or just the feel of it, anything works, try to write a couple of sentences.  But remember this isn't a criticism thread so make sure what you say is nice.

If you have most of your art on a different site (e.g Instagram or DeviantArt) feel free to include a link to your account. Instagram doesn't allow you to insert an image's address so simply linking to the image you like is fine if you are claiming for someone. This is also an all-ages thread so please DO NOT  link to galleries with uncensored or easily viewable NSFW images. If the person above you doesn't include a link you should be able to see their art in their toyhouse gallery.

Reminder: Please include at least two or three sentences in your reply. It's always great to receive a thoughtful comment so including more than a bare minimum "I like it" level response is encouraged

THIS ONE, I JUST... GAHHHHH. The shading is peak, it's just so pixel perfect! Love how cute and simple the pose is too

HIII LOVE UR ART :DD Ur style is so delightfully cartoony and expressive!! I also love the amount of diversity in characters you draw :D

ANYWAY, I ADORE THIS ONE, I am a sucker for dramatic situations that require dramatic lighting, and this one just makes my brain SO HAPPY- Like srsly, The shadows and lighting REALLY makes it stands out, as to set the dark mood of the drawing but also amplify the horrified expression by bringing attention to the lit eyes and face, ITS JUST, WOW. The way you draw blood too uis also super cool and I love the little detail about blood being on the glasses!! THE HAND TOO? THE HAND POSE IS SO GOOD, and as a person that struggles with hands, I just love it smm

BONUS ART

This one! I love the purple shadows against the red here and the highlights are super shiny and juicy- I also like the thicker outline around the character while still keeping the outline on the inside still thin (if that makes sense lmao-)

real big fan of this guy. the cooler dull colors add to the vibe really well and stands out in comparison to your other, brighter works plus the decision to replace fully inked in areas with a blueish gray under hatching is really interesting to look at. red pops out against the cooler colors but not so much that its jarring and overall is very cohesive and nice to look at. real cool

@ np dont post my art to the thread 👍 just link it

this one is my favorite. the colors are perfect and contrast so nicely. also i love thé simple line art and how clean the coloring looks. also the design itself is great and looks really good. the pose is dynamic but still compact, if i saw ur art on a show or in a short i would be interested. Oh my favorite part is the toe beans😭so so cute

Claim! It'll have to be this one.

It may seem simple but I adore and applaud your ability to draw 4 charas in this piece! Drawing one chara is hard enough let alone hbs of 'em! Seriously, mad respect

Also, the lighting is phenomenal. Lighting work is always impressive and this is no different. I'm usually not the biggest fan of semi-/realism but the effort and you put in this work is clear.

Kudos to you

Oooh definitely going to have to go with this one! It's so intense! The heavy shading is superb, and it does a great job at setting a moody atmosphere. The static/noise effect in the background and the character's expression feels very unsettling, I get the feeling something is "not quite right". Especially with the fire reflecting in the eye, which is a really nice attention to detail. Overall I just love the vibe. Also the lineart looks great, I like the flowyness and the use of line weight variation.

Felisidae

I really like the shading on this one! Gosh, everything looks so detailed it's amazing! The writing and texture on the pages of the book, the light of the magic from the wand looks so pretty! The background also looks really neat, so jealous of people that can make backgrounds look so good. The way the fur is shaded looks so good, the clothes are also shaded very nicely, especially the fluffy bits. The little details on the wand, the shine on the hair, the little particles coming off the wand, you can just tell that a lot of love and patience went into this piece.

Np: Please make sure you aren't looking at an adopt base, though there are only a few so it shouldn't be too much of a hassle, thank you!

digitalgia I really like this one! It looks so early 2000s, the pose is super cute, and it looks like something that would be on cute stationery or notebooks 20 years ago! The varied line weight is super effective at leading the eye, and the combination between the hand-drawn lineart and the standardized shapes (like the stars) give a very professional look in this style! (Also the outfit is super cute!!)

vvv Thank you so, so much!!

Storm_Clouds

Kvroii I really like this art you've made! The colors are super soft and the shading on the water is super nice! it has an almost dreamlike quality to it with the color choice and overall atmosphere/ lens flare effect, which is really pleasant on the eyes. Your use of depth and foreground vs background in the peice is also rlly cool!

I really enjoy this particular horror drawing you'd made! The lighting, perspective and contrast between the light pillar thingies, the skeleton dino, and the darkness said dino is emerging from is executed really well. It help conveys the tense atmosphere you're going for and the skelly dino charging towards the viewer adds onto that. I also like the rendering on the dino and how eerily they looks.

Image under spoilers for the spookyness
