"Looks like it's just you and me Girly." Marcus patronizingly saying. Referring Vasumati to 'girly' to show dominance over her. Marcus was uneasy with the idea that a woman can take charge and plan so well. Better than him even! Especially if she is a militant woman and from the looks of Vasumati, Marcus can tell she is definitely one. He has been observing her since he awoken and found himself stranded on this island with her. He has been studying her gears and how she carries herself, aware of her ranking. Because of her status he felt his leadership was at question. He then attempts to show supremacy by ordering her around. "Girly, you stay here and gather some vegetation. I will go scout and hunt. You're a woman, you're good with that house keeping stuff. And when I return, I will teach you how to build a hut and a boat." Marcus then goes to explain why a hut and a boat is important, if it wasn't obvious already. "Girly, the hut is essential for surviving and the boat is essential for leaving this island."
As Marcus leaves he turns over to glance at Vasumati, and softly says to her "Hey. We will make it, you will see your family again. That I guarantee you." Marcus wanting to make Vasumati knows everything will be ok and that she is safe with him.
(I'm sure Marcus will learn to take it easy on his machismo. HAHA! He will eventually learn to respect Vasumati.)

(Bravo for Silas being able to tough it out with Marcus' toxic masculinity and institutionalized way of thinking! For the greater good as he mentioned "smooth cooperative effort." Haha! These two are opposites, would make for a great story being deserted on this island. LOL)
