^^^ SDFGHDFGHJG OMG HONESTLY HE HAS EVERY REASON TO HATE HER, DRAGGED INTO A FUCKING STARBUCKS FOR A WATER I FEEL SO BAD FOR HIMMMM
At first she suspected Haru of being the catalyst for a new world, like the others she sought out. Compared to most, he had a certain level of conviction and unusual qualities that Spark thought she had to keep an eye on, but when a new world didn't emerge, she realized she had been wrong this time.
It must have been unsettling to be followed and watched, as Spark still didn't take much interest in concealing her intent, and so she decided a cover story would be her best choice to cause little trouble. There was a Starbucks nearby, and it was a hot day, and even this man would become thirsty, right?
She took Haru's hand loosely but suddenly. "I was watching you. My apologies. I thought something was..."
Well, it would be the truth--
"...wrong. But I think it's too hot out, and maybe I thought you would get dehydrated. Come in."
The short woman pulled Haru into the Starbucks despite his protests. It was the opposite of the easy departure she intended, but the had one more thing on her mind even with her first theory disproven.
"You handle suspicion well. Why is that?" Spark asked, with little regard for the etiquette of such matters, or for Haru's distaste at the establishment. "Is it because you're confident? No, that can't be all, there must be more to you under the surface."
She made a quick deduction at Haru's insults at the Starbucks and decided that his reason for hating it wasn't from a place of baseless mockery. Was he... insulted somehow? She never was sure of such matters, but a wrong guess in the right direction was better than none at all if she wished to understand, even for a moment. Whatever Haru mentioned next would be closer to a solid reason.
"Oh, so that's it. You can make better coffee. It's a long way to go in this heat, though. Also... I don't have money, so I was just going to get you a water. I hope that's better," she said, and gave her order to the barista at the counter. She handed Haru the iced water.
He's so forward, but there's something more to him. Still, he's not the one I was looking for, so it's best if we part ways now, before I learn what more there really is.
@ np, Spark isn't familiar with Starbucks, so she'll be impressed with anything you get her! Only problem is, she has a hard time admitting if she likes something, so she would probably act somewhat cold and downplay her interest, even though she's not hard to see through and she really would come to like it.
vvv Aaaa thank you!! This is wonderful!!
