This thread was kicking around a couple of months back before it lost momentum. I thought it might be cool to get it going again!

✨WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT✨

Ever wanted to try voice acting? Or, maybe you'd like to hear someone else having a go at bringing your OC to life? If so, you've come to the right place! The aim of this thread is for people to post and/or act a few lines of each other's OCs.

✨HOW TO PLAY✨

The rules, if you're already familiar with them, are gonna be pretty much the same as last time.
This thread has the potential to get very complicated (so please read the full post) -- here's what to do:

If you're looking to receive a little bit of voice acting:

Post IC, with some lines for your character. Anything from a handful of one-liners to a longer monologue is okay. You can leave some kind of instruction for how you'd like the lines to be delivered, or just leave it up to the actors interpretation.
EXAMPLE POST
(posting IC as Chris) Hey, here are some lines for my character Chris. Chris is a young boy, so he has a high-pitched voice. He tends to talk loudly, and his tone is a little nasal. Also, he is a ghost, so if you can add a kind of spooky echo effect that would be cool.
[sadly] "Oh I am so alone. What is a rowdy and rambunctious boy like myself to do?"
[exited] "Ahh, I can't wait to go poke around in the dirt and catch some cool bugs!"
[Chris just laughing in a rowdy and rambunctious manner]
[scared] "Who's there!? Oh god, I hope it's not the poisonous lions again..."
"Why did the plane crash?" [pause for effect, barely stifling giggles, before delivering the punchline] "Because the pilot was a loaf of bread!" [bursts out laughing]
You can add a preference for the kind of voice you want, (e.g. masculine/feminine, deep/high, gentle/brash, a specific accent, ect)... just keep in mind the actors here will have to work with what they've got-- you might not get the exact voice you're looking for! You can also request special effects and other stuff, but again, they might not be possible depending on who's acting.
If your lines happen to take anyone's fancy, you might get a claim! (Please edit your post once you get a claim, to let people know you got something already)
Keep in mind that you might not get a claim! After all, people in this thread will be doing stuff For Free, so your lines/character may not get chosen, or your characters might not suit the voices of any actors around here. No hard feelings!
You can post as much as you like, just don't expect to get a claim for everything. Or anything, necessarily.
This thread is a free-for-all: You can't get skipped! Just post your lines, and if someone finds your post and wants to have a go reading them, they will. Posts will likely not be in order. This is okay, everyone just has to make sure they ping who they're claiming so nothing gets lost.
Don't be mean to anyone if their voice isn't what you wanted/expected! This thread is just for fun! It's nothing serious, anything you get will be for free, and done out of the kindness of the actor's heart
Remember to thank your actor if they decide to perform your lines! <3

If you wish to claim for someone, and do a little voice acting yourself:

Find a post with lines that you wanna try acting.
Comment with your claim, and ping the recipient to let them know you're claiming!
Then get Dramatique™ and record yourself voice acting the lines that were provided.
Link or PM your recipient the file of your glorious voice
Edit your original post to let people know your claim's been completed and sent!
You can claim as much a you like! Just remember to follow through :'o
Try to polish up the audio a little, if you're able to. If you can edit out long pauses or mistakes I'm sure it'd be appreciated! There's plenty of free software you can use (audacity is good!)
At the same time, no pressure! There's no quality standard here-- It's totally fine if you're not the best actor in the world, or if your audio setup isn't great, or if you can't edit your recordings. The aim is to try your best and have fun, not be perfect!
If you'd like to add relevant special effects (like, weird effects for robot/ghost/monster characters, for example) go nuts!
If someone's lines have already been claimed, you're still free to give them a go if they call to you, but priority should be on posts that haven't been acted yet.
Keep in mind that this is just for fun. You likely won't be getting anything in return for your effort, so don't expect to be reimbursed! The aim of the game is to just have a good time.

Some other rules:

Keep things PG! Swearing is okay, but lewd stuff is best avoided.
Please be kind and courteous! Don't demand things of people, and remember to thank people if they put in the effort to act your lines, even if they're not what you were expecting! Likewise, if you're acting, please try and put at least a little effort in, and don't use it as an opportunity for any kind of meanness. Don't get jealous if someone else gets a claim and you don't, that's the nature of a thread like this (and there's a chance you'll get claimed later!)
Please don't repost the same lines even if you didn't get a claim! Once they've been up for a few day's they'll go up here, with a brief description of the desired sort of voice (to make them easier for potential actors to find!)

Audacity - an open-source audio editing program I really recommend!

Free Places to Upload

Chirbit - you need an account, but I'd highly recommend it
Vocaroo - audio quality will be reduced & upload size is restricted, but you don't need an account!

Other Helpful Stuff

VLC Media Player - open-source media player, which also lets you convert audio from one format to another
Sometimes a little digital wizardry can come in handy, especially while voicing characters outside of your normal vocal range. MathewMii made a great post with some tips for masculinizing your voice with audio editing software here!

Sushko is a famous singer in my Octogirl universe. She's pretty Ladylike and around 25. Im unsure if an older or younger voice would fit her better so anyone could try I guess. She's talking relatively calm tho, maybe with that "goth" vibe, im unsure :^ Dont worry about pronouncing anything wrong, idc x"D

Phoebe has a voice of an older southern woman. She's from a steampunk old west setting. I have mostly men but I make the assumption that there are more ladies on this sight than male voicers but if you prefer a male, please send me a message as I have a thousand.

[jokingly with a bit of shock] "Well smack my butt and call me a liar...ain't that the 'ole man from back in the day that tried to break into your gun closet?

Fletcher is nearing 30, so a mature voice on the more masc side would be good! I think in general he speaks with a kind of airy tone like he just doesn't care but w/e works!

Sometimes you have to accept your disadvantages and work to make them your advantages.
[Amused] I even gave them an anonymous tip just to make things more fun, and it was still one of the easiest heists I've ever had! It's kind of sad, really.
Do you know how many pictures I've photo-bombed over the years? How many tip jars I've outright stolen from? My curse doesn't just make me look plain and boring, it makes people look right past me - unless I'm wearing this mask.
[Annoyed, talking to himself] Don't bother, Fletcher, they won't remember you anyway. This is what you get for leaving your mask at home. Ugh.

Renee Cabal (Matured Renee/Renee Madura) zeotaku

Hello there! If you wouldn't mind, I'd like some for my girl Renee. I am posting in her matured form, but this goes both for her base form and mature form. You can skim over both of her descriptions just to get a good idea of her.

Some notes: She has a slight Spaniard accent.
She has a small lisp in English, and a much larger, noticeable one in Spanish.
Renee has a pretty monotonous. Depending on her situation, she can speak softly or tersely. She can sometimes speak with emotion, though it's not very common (unless it's anger, but even then) She also doesn't like raising her voice unless she needs a point made.
I'd like it if you can speak Spanish for some of her lines, but if you can't, that's definitely okay!

Here are the lines I'm thinking of. I'm putting a bit, but choose which ones you want to do of course! Imrpov is, of course, accepted as well!

[softly] Hello / Hola.
[softly, more so interrogative tone instead of caring] Can I help you with anything? / ¿Necesitas ayuda?
[softly} You really shouldn't be my friend... / Realmente no deberías ser mi amigo...
[terse, sarcastic] Flattering. / Halagüeño.
[terse, rising tone and a bit annoyed] I really hate having to raise my voice. / Realmente odio tener que levantar mi voz.
[imagine you just stubbed your toe] Ay, carajo!
[softly, maybe a bit condescending] It's not that hard, really. / No es tan difícil, de verdad.
[losing her cool/patience, definitely angry, incredibly strong tone] What part of "leave me alone" do you not fucking understand? / [yea i don't know spanish so if you got a translaton for it, go right ahead!!!!]
[incredibly beaten up and exhausted, but still with a lot of resolve] If you want to win... then you need to kill me.
[incredibly condescending, and is that tinge of happiness?] I understand, Thanks. / Entiendo, Gracias.
[determined shouting- if we took an anime protag, it'd be "KURAE!", not "YAMERO!"] You will never reach the truth! / El cielo no existe para ti!
