I went through your art, and your painting style was striking! i love how you texture your hair and how shiny and floaty you make it look. I love the dabble of contrasting tones in your paintings that adds more interest in there! i also love how sharp you draw faces? it is such and interesting style that adds more to the characters. I also like how windy and dynamic your posing is!

I went through your designs to follow, they are overall so majestic? i think thats the right word ^^ a lot of them are very elegant and regal with the intricate details! and those that had more casual designs had expressions that told me a lot about their character from that alone. the ranges of the expressiveness of your characters are wonderful. and just like i said with your art style the hair is absolutely lovely on most of them

DROPS IN! first of all, your aesthetics for organizing are really nice. i felt really at ease on your page, so your vibes seem really good. kind of witchy, which is something i love being around. second, your art style is GREAT. that 80s feel went perfectly with the music i'm listening to. i've always wanted to be able to replicate styles like that, but never could. you, however? aced it in the hole. perfect. your characters are also all really unique? there's some that really stand out to me, which make me stop and admire them and that's always a good thing to have! YOU ALSO SEEM VERY SWEET, just like those little cherry candies~

lance, you amazing man, i'm in a server with you, i know that, and while i lurk around there for the most part, i can at least say that your work in trying to help others with their creations is inspiring to me to try my best to give back to other groups i'm in. it's just... really wholesome to watch other people help each other, and i wish it was something i could see every damn day.

but ASIDE FROM THAT, i also have always really enjoyed reading up on your character profiles for things like forum games. you have a good handle on characters. i especially love Rane, because if you can't tell by now, I have a soft spot for jerks with hearts of gold. in general, you just have good taste. slashers? superheroes? sign me the fuck up.

overall, you're just a good creator and a sweet person, and in a way i really look up to you as a positive force u_u like. GODDAMN. i wish you the best in all your endeavors.

Thank you so much kafkaesque <3 I actually cried a bit reading your response.. I love writing a lot and you have no idea how much being compared to Hemingway made me melt a bit. Legit read your response at 11:00 after closing at work at 9:30 in a call and the other people in it were like 'fish wtf are you ok".

Also I just wanna let you know though not to worry about Rosemary! She's still a thing! I just have her hidden for now as I am reworking her story and set her on the back burner. I have too many ideas for her and my mind is exploding. As for Jasper I am gonna work on his sectioned history today hopefully! Keep an eye out.

okay so admittedly, I haven't interacted with you too much on the forums, but based off my experiences with you in IC replies... by golly, do I want to interact with you more. you seem like a genuinely interesting and cool person who loves their characters, a trait that I always admire in other people!! your writing is definitely appealing to read, and responding to you has been a pleasure!! I'm definitely intrigued by your writing commissions, as your writing is unique and expressive. in a way... it sort of reminds me of Hemingway?? it's short and expressive, yet at the same time, it's succinct and allows for insight into the character. that mix of depth and brevity is enviable af ngl-

but I think the major attraction behind your writing is 100% your characters!! as said before, I admittedly haven't interacted with you much in the forums, but I've read through your profiles before, specifically Jasper and Rosemary iirc. in Jasper's case, I'm not too well-versed with DnD, yet I found myself drawn into his lore and mechanics as a character!! a druid tiefling is an unexpected combo, but I'm down af for it nonetheless... I live for subversion hehe. I noticed that his profile is a WIP, but honestly... I'd love to know more about him... as for Rosemary, I'm 10000000% WEAK for characters from a historical setting, and hers is definitely one I don't see on a daily basis?? from what I remember of her profile, she was also a pretty cool gal, with her backstory and associated literatures particularly standing out to me. I think both of these characters demonstrate your creativity and skill as both a writer and character developer, and I'd love to know more about your writing and characters in the future!! keep up the good work, and may 2020 be a productive year for you!! ^^

We’ve bumped into each other here and there, and you have always been one of the kindest users I have seen on this site. Sometimes it’s hard finding people as kind as you online. You always put all of your heart into everything you do, and that’s something I admire a ton about you.

When I see your username, I instantly know it’s you. Your icon is also iconic, but your username is unlike anybody else’s that it has stuck in my brain. Also, your nickname is Rusty? That’s awesome! Like dang, I want a cool nickname like that.

Also, I’ve been wanting to say but you have adorable art! It’s sooooooooooo cute. I especially love when you do a painted-esk style, it works so well with your art style. Your art is so expressive and that’s so hard to do. I have to take some notes! Also, your lineart is so good. You must have a ton of patience to be able to do lineart like that.

I love how much goes into your characters; you're really able to work your interest in science into your writing! Everyone's names are really creative, and I love the variety of hairstyles/colors, along with the poses you draw. Everyone looks distinct from one another, too, which is something I can appreciate. The amount of effort and dedication you're putting into Atomland is really impressive. From a writing standpoint as well, all of the characters really seem unique and interesting and diverse, and like you've done a pretty solid amount of research overall!

You have a knack for really interesting concepts, honestly, and your ability to handle large projects like this is fantastic! I'm very curious about Bodyworks as well!

okay so!! I've seen you plenty of times on the forums, and I believe we've replied to each other frequently as well. all those instances, you've come off as incredibly sweet?? like... I'm terrible at reading tone, but nonetheless, each time I read a message from you, you're clearly one who cares for others and holds genuine interest in their characters (or even the actual users). ik it's a trait that ideally should be common, but it's just... really nice... I love seeing it in other users, and I'll never get tired of that. also, I low-key gotta admire your activity on the forum games, because you do help keep some of the threads alive as well.

I already complimented your characters in a different thread, so for the sake of this one specifically, I'll keep this paragraph fairly short compared to that response:

I absolutely adore the variety in your characters, ranging from the species to their overall designs. ik I said that before, but I'll say it again because it's just something I appreciate every time I go through your character pages?? you may have a lot of characters (especially compared to someone like myself), but I can still tell who is whom at a glance. admittedly it's a bit subjective, but the range of aesthetics covered in your characters is 100% refreshing af. as for the lore, the slice-of-life components just... get me every time... I like characters who are just having a good time and are happy. it's wholesome, and it just creates that d'awwww feeling that I enjoy. hell, the cute feeling in general does compliment a lot of your characters nicely. it's almost like a signature aspect of you, and it's likely why I'm able to recognize your characters so easily.

plus?? can I just say how much I love your art?? it's already a given because I high-key admire people who can draw traditional art as nicely as you do, but that's a bit general, and I'm doing a deep dive damn it. your art is incredibly smooth, and I absolutely ADORE the lineart. it sort of reminds me of a cartoon in terms of the softness, but there's also a clear contrast that allows it to stand out from the rest of the piece. speaking of contrast, it's also clear that you have a good understanding of color theory, as the use of lights and darks in your art is 100% something I can get behind. it lets me keep looking back at your art, and each time I do so, I find new details that I like. let's see... even when you intend to make more subtle pieces, it just works... incredibly nicely. ig the summary of it all is that I adore your color usage lol. but I also gotta admire the absolute fucking CONFIDENCE you emanate when it comes to drawing both humanoids and ferals; that range is something I absolutely can't help but gush over. usually you see artists specializing in one or the other, so to see one who's able to wield both skills fairly evenly is definitely something worth remarking about.

Your characters are all great, too! They’re all recognizable, I immediately know they’re yours when I see them! They’re all also pretty well fleshed out and it’s interesting reading about the dynamics between all of them!

Also your art is very nice too! The more, like, surreal pieces you do? SUPER cool. The textures you use are nice to look at, too! And I get that you tend to draw your characters as cats because you’re not so good at humans yet... But I gotta say, I think your humans are great! :) I especially like Dolores’ human design? Her outfit is great, it’s really cute and really helps sell that she lives in Snowpoint!

Heya! I don't believe that we've interacted a whole lot, but I see you around a decent bit, and you seem like a really cool guy! I always see you pop up on forum threads or games that are complementing another person, be it their art style or themselves (I mean, being in this thread is proof enough, haha) and you always seem really genuine and friendly within these posts, which I admire an awful lot.

I also adore your art and characters, especially in the A Thorn Stood Between folder. All of the art is super stylized and fun to look at! You have a fantastic grasp of silhouettes, shapes, and color palettes; however, I think the best part about your artwork is your ability to convey different emotions. It makes each piece of yours a story within itself, which is absolutely great. I would also be lying if I said I didn't appreciate the shitpost art that I see you do, haha.

Finally, in relation to the characters themselves, they are super engaging, and they all seem like people I could feasibly meet, regardless of the fantasy aspects. It is obvious that you've put a lot of time, thought, and effort into making dynamic and believable characters, and it shows 100%. I especially love how you've characterized Aurelio and Zeb (the latter of which I believe is a fantastic representation in trans identity). I can not wait for this to eventually be a webcomic; it will be one that I would excitedly follow

All in all, you just seem like a really nice guy! Between the lovely art and characters and a pretty genuine and friendly personality, you are just overall fantastic. Great work, my man, keep on being great and being you!

Oh my goodness, thank you so so much! I'm really glad that you like my music; I put a lot of effort into making pieces that I think people would enjoy. I also thank you for your compliments on my art! I don't consider myself a spectacular artist ( which is probably why I stick to mostly traditional) but it means a lot that you like it! For a little information on the Ebonvale folder, it is a story that I've been working for a while, but I've thought about opening it up for people to stick designs in, haha. At the very least, it would be fun, if not canonical. But, once again, thank you so much for your kind words. It really means a lot!

I love the way your folders are sorted! I love your folders icons and how they match! The flowers are super nice. Id love to learn a little more about Ebonvale! Is it a story your writing on your own? A role play realm? Either way its super cool and the characters that are in the realm are all super unique! Leif is the bomb haha. I also like how you dont cookie cut your characters body shapes and sizes. I know thats something i need to work on lol

I love your art too! That style is simply fantasic, and I applaud your ability to do traditional art! I love the chibi head it looks like drawn on homeowrk or paperwork of some sorts! You have great body porportions in your art! Also your hands ;~; I want to be able to draw hands like you! You pick good colors and for the art it applies to you have a great eye for shading!

As for your music! Heart string made me want to watch the night sky with the Northern lights above and just watch my dogs play in the snow. The tempo was fantaticly smooth and the chords struck such harmony that I wish I was a better animator so I could make a video of my characters hanging out and just existing near eachother you know?
A nightmares nightmare is close to my favorite because It makes me want to run in an abandon street and see everything then and there! if i was to animate this peice I would totally use it for a chasing music where the person running away had just told a bad joke and the chaser is going after them.

My favorite is Haunted Heart though. It makes me feel like so inspired to do what I dont know. In fact its so perfect it leaves me speachless haha, I love the slow then fast with the OOoooOOoooOO~s and then the sudden stop and soft rattling. A +
