Nigel

At Astrid's words, Nigel hesitated. It was true - they could stay, be safe, maybe get to know more about each other. There was no one saying that they couldn't, but, still, Nigel hesitated. The shack, while initially a safe space, now felt almost holy, a place to visit, refresh, and then continue on so someone else could use it. A place he wouldnt want to keep from others, but they might want to keep from him. "That's really cool that the night affects you like that!" he replied, still in awe of an actually useful magic. He hadn't heard much about the witchfinders, living on the very edge of society, but it didn't seem like the right time to ask. "I wouldn't want to keep you from safety, but thank you. I should head home, anyhow." He liked that she smiled when talking about combat, that she found joy in her actions. "And visiting family sounds so nice!" He had no idea where his own was - he hadn't paid attention when he'd left, and he hadn't been able to find his way back. So he'd given his sisters' names to his hares, and that was as close to family as he'd get. "I'm learning how to keep bees in the desert - I'm hoping to make enough honey that people will visit me sometimes." he let a little longing in his voice, even though the thought of Many People frightened him. But maybe it wouldn't be as scary as he feared. He'd met Astrid, after all, and that ended up less than scary. Maybe.
