Literally just barebones romanticized explanation of Maddie's feelings towards her body as a zombie. Wrote this a very long time ago.

From the moment her head hit the bed that fateful night she knew things would be different going forward. She woke up in a new world full of people she had only seen in old polaroids. The only thing she had left of her past self was the details of her body and her best friend Brad. Maddie's new body was an enigma: Shimmery pinkish purple lines decorated her arms, inner thighs, and neck from past wars of the psyche. Her hair was soft, curly, and naturally a cool royal purple and deep blue. Her height was demanding and her olive eyes piercing.

She held herself in such a way that you may think she thought very little of herself, and you'd be right. Despite her well-meaning disposition and overall towering effect on people, she was the butt of many jokes in her city of origin. After death she was nothing but a fuschia husk. Many years of pretending bore down heavy on her. She'd never gotten the satisfaction of happiness in her life due to the constant fear of being outed or hurt or even criticized by her family as would often happen. These issues were just that, though: mere issues in the menagerie of thoughts and actions that made up someone as important as Madison A.

In comparison to her earlier years, Maddie’s last few months of life on Earth 1 were her best: meeting Brad Korps was one of the only things that made her life outside of trans advocacy worth it. Things that often worried her felt ephemeral when he was around. Brad always had a tune to play or a song to sing, or even a treat to divulge from a foreign land. He was what you might call well traveled, even though deep down he was a lot more well traveled than the phrase may insinuate (being an alien and everything). In the time they knew each other they made a lot of promises that later became realities. Moving in together, staying in Kentucky, opening up a record label together, helping Brad become an RN, etc.

It all happened pretty quickly: the life and the death of both Maddie and Brad at the hands of a nuclear explosion. It was something to get used to for sure, but that didn't stop either of them from trying.

Even after the explosive venture that was UFOgirls, Maddie never gave up on the one thing that never steered her wrong: waking up every day and seeking healing and happiness in the little things.
