1 - Form

Security peered outside the door of his mother’s room. Watching servants of the castle walk by, chattering amongst themselves. He raised his paw, preparing to take a step before feeling himself being yanked from the scruff backwards. With a oomf he fell down further from the door then before as he looked up to see his mother scowling at him.

“Security!” She hissed down at him. “What are you doing? Acting like a fool trying to walk out without changing your form!” She looked stressed, he wondered if the meeting she just came from was rough. Security looked down at his paws, his usual silver unlike the bluish gray most know him as.

“But mom,” he looked up sadly, trying to give her the saddest eyes possible to sway her. “I’m 3 seasons now! Surely I no longer need a disguise, it’s annoying having to make you constantly changing my form when I leave. I’m sure it bothers you too, can’t we just stop doing it?” He asked her pleadingly. She raised her eyebrow at him before sighing. He watched the yellow magic flow out of her eyes, he grumbled but let her change his form.

“There now you can go play outside.” He padded to the door before looking back at his mother sadly. She sighed,

“When you come back I will teach you to use your magic so you can change it yourself. That way it will be easier on both of us.” Security perked up at that, being able to use magic. He grinned at his mom before bounding out of her room.

“Focus!” Taser hissed. “You won’t be able to do this successfully if you can’t pay attention!” Security gritted his teeth, fighting back the urge to bite back at her. He failed another attempt at learning to shapeshift.

“This is harder than it looks” He whined. His mother let out a swipe at his ear, no claws, just a warning to watch his attitude.

“Why do I even have to do this again?” He grumbled.

“Your father is a mage Security. You look nothing like Bolt! If they realize that they’ll get suspicious, and if they find out who your father is we’ll both be in trouble. You don’t want to go into the furnace do you.” She responded, a growl slightly coming out of her throat. Security’s ears pressed down into this head, not liking how upset she seemed.

“Now try again.” Security wish he wasn’t a mage like Detector so he could just go play with her.

Security chased Detector around the house giggling. “I’m gonna get you!” He shouted to her as he caught up with her, getting close enough to nearly touch her tail.

“Nooooo!” Detector cried before crashing into something. Security tried to stop but went sliding into his sister, the two ending up in a pile on the floor. Security peered up to see Bolt, he grinned and jumped up.

“Dad!!” He and Detector cheered, running circles around him. The older cat chuckled, watching his children stream around him in excitement. He grinned down at the two kittens.

“How are you two doing?” He said happily, excited to be around his kits.

“I’m sure they’re fine.” Taser stated, walking up to her husband as Security and Detector skidded to a halt in front of the two. She stared down at her kittens with a stern look.

“You probably shouldn’t be playing around in such a place like this.” She stated looking around the dining room. Bolt smiled warmly at his wife.

“I’m sure it’s fine. I don’t think any of the workers seem to mind.” Taser let out a hmph at this before turning around and flicking her tail. “Security and Detector come with me will you? I need to talk with you.” The siblings looked at each other before following after their mom.
