Chapter 2

"Alright, this is getting ridiculous."
"Another dead end, another amazing comment from the oh-so-patient Dindel." - Cigryd growled. He turned to Tyrique, "Look, Ty, I don't... really think this really is THE cave, you know..."
They have been wandering in the cave for almost three hours now, but the trio saw no signs of any of the treasure mentioned in all those stories. All they found was a bunch of angry bats to make Dindel even more happy, some net traps which Tyrique managed to walk into without a mistake, and a nest of rats which made Cigryd run out of the room, resulting in him finding a lake in a different room. The damn cave was like a labyrinth and the two older flitz were pretty sure they were lost, but Tyrique kept insisting that he knows the way because his insticts told him which way to turn.
The lantern Tyrique lit before he entered the cave went out like a hour ago, so instead of lighting another one, the three just relied on Dindel's glowing markings, using it as their primary source of light.
"No, this has to be the cave... I swear, my instincts have never lied to me before..." the youngest said, starting to sound defeated as the party went back out of the tunnel they were in. "But maybe if we go down this way?" he said, turning left.

After a bit of walking, Cigryd stopped and picked something up from the ground.
"Hey, guys..." he started, "Look at this!"
The thing he was holding looked like a chain with something attached to it and it shined in the light of Dindel's markings.
"Nobody just leaves a golden necklace in a cave like this, right?" asked Ty with hope returning in his voice. He gasped. "Guys. Guys, are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
"I doubt that." Dindel noticed another shiny thing on the ground a bit further from where they stood. "Okay, this one's a coin." he said as he picked it up.
Tyrique's eyes grew wide and without a word he started off down to the end of the tunnel, dragging their light source with him.

Cigryd was relieved when the two finally stopped and he managed to catch up.
"Holy wow..." Cigryd was filled with awe, his eyes shining bright as he saw what was inside the room, "You were right, Ty..."

The room was huge; filled almost to the brim with neatly stacked piles and piles of gold and silver, glittering in the light of Dindel. Gems lay scattered on the floor around a large wooden chest, which was probably filled with more treasure, waiting for someone to open it. On a larger rock in a corner, necklaces of pearl, silver and gold were waiting for a lady to pass by and put them in her neck with golden rings with various gems, jevels and crystals of various sizes embedded in them.
"See?!" Tyrique exclaimed, pride taking over him at the success of proving the treasure's existence, "It's real! Hahah, it's really real!"
His friends were speechless.
"Well, looks like your insticts were right after all..." Dindel finally said.
Cigryd sniffed the air around Dindel. "Is that an apology I smell?" he said with a smirk.
Dindel just grunted, lowering his head and starting to walk further into the room. "Just go grab some stuff and let's get out of here before your success gets into your head..."

As the other two started for the treasure, something moved in the darkness of a corner.
The trio froze.
"Did you... did you guys-" Tyrique attempted to whisper a question to his friends but was shushed by Dindel. The three quickly gathered up behind a pile of treasure. Cigryd put his scarf around his brother's markings to block out their light.

The thing moved again.
Taking a better look at it, the three could tell that it was something... fluffy?
One moment, it was there, then it was gone.
"What the..." The quietest whisper from Tyrique was cut in half again, but this time, because of the flapping of wings.
A roar echoed through the room, and with it something pushed the trio off their feet. The scarf on Dindel fell down, his light revealing what pushed them off their feet.
