Three guys go to explore a cave

"How dare you step foot inside my cave?!" the beast's voice ran chills down the flits' spines, his eyes staring into their very beings. "You've made a grave mistake, you three."

"I can't believe this..." whimpered Cigryd, "An actual kalacros...!"

"SILENCE!" roared the kalacros, "You leave without another word or you will regret even thinking of this place!"
The kalacros took a step back to let the three stand up and leave.
"Wait, is this really the Cave of-" started Tyrique, but was cut off by the kalacros' roar.
Not heeding his warning was a bad idea; the kalacros started towards them, teeth clearly visible. The trio was about to turn and run when another voice came from behind the beast.

"Ban? What's going on?"
Another voice called out, this time from behind the kalacros which made him stop. He was so close to the gray flit he could practically feel the beast's breath. It sounded like a girl.

"Ah, so your name is Ban." breathed Cigryd, heart beating faster than a running mouse's steps, "Good to know."

Although Ban stopped, blue eyes still fixated on the trio, his fur raised like a cat's, not moving from where he stopped. He made a low growling sound.

"We have visitors again, don't we?" the voice was coming closer. "From what I've heard, they aren't human, are they?"

"Don't you dare move." Ban growled at the flitz.

Tyrique swallowed. Finding something you've been told as being nonexistent filled him with pride, but finding something dangerous with it that was within one bite from ending his friend made his stomach turn with regret. He brought them inside the lair of a beast and almost getting themselves killed on the first quest where he could choose the destination made him feel miserable inside. He made no sound.

"Ban, I hope they're still breathing. You know I hate to clean up your mess after-" the girl finally became visible in the light. As she saw the still living flitz, she hugged and patted Ban. "Oh good job, Ban! They're still alive! Calm down now, I'm sure they just wanted a shelter of some sorts."
Turning to the three flitz, her face bore a warm smile. "Now, you three are just adorable," said she, to which Ban couldn't help but scoff, "but you have to leave. You see, this big boy here does not like visitors. Any kinds. So I'm afraid you have to go."

A moment of tense silence followed. Ban was still in a defensive stance, though he moved out of Cigryd's face while the flit sat down and took a deep breath to calm himself. Dindel was silently staring at the girl, not sure what to make of her kindness to let them go, unlike the kalacros. Tyrique though was both trembling in fear and was looking at the girl with awe. How she managed to control such a powerful creature was beyond him.

"I advise you do as Lyra says." growled Ban, "Get out." and with that, he slowlymade his way behind his rider, never taking his cold eyes off of the flitz.

Cigryd and Dindel slowly and cautiously turned to leave, but halfway to the entrance of the room they noticed their younger companion hadn't moved.
"Let's go, Ty." Dindel said in a low, calm voice, "We don't want to end up dead , now, do we? Come on." He knew Tyrique was still frightened from the encounter, but he didn't see that he was on the verge of crying. He slowly turned back and attempted to move towards his young friend to lead him out, only to be stopped by yet another growl from Ban.

"Wait, you don't want to come back further." Lyra said. "Your friend seems pretty scared... You want to guide him out, right?"
Dindel nodded while Cigryd watched the two. Ban finally relaxed, but was still alert.

She carefully made her way to the frightened flit.
"Hey there, sweetie." Her calm voice was like honey to him. When she tried to gently put her hand on his cheek, he pulled away his head.

When he looked at her warm smile, he started to finally calm down a bit.
"Don't worry," she said, now succeeding in gently placing her hand on the flit's cheek, "you're alright, dear. Don't worry, that big bad kitty isn't going to hurt you."
Now that sentence earned them a scoff from Ban. You're lucky she stopped me in time, he thought.
Lyra looked at her companion kalacros with a comically angry expression. She knew well what that scoff meant, even if she didn't understand his language.
Turning back to the young flit she continued. "Let's get you to your friends so you can go outside, alright?"
Tyrique nodded and let Lyra lead him to his friends. Before they could start walking out, Tyrique turned to the girl.
"Thanks..." he said awkwardly, but with his usual confidence seeping back into his voice, "You're a nice one, you know... I wish we could become friends!"

Lyra patted his head.
"Aww, you sound like a kitty! You're a cute one, you know. You remind of a kiwi fruit!" she said, giggling a bit.
"You mean a... "kiwi kitty"?"

Cigryd was giggling at the exchange and even Dindel couldn't stop himself from smiling. The oldest flit made his way to Tyrique.
"You know she can't understand you, right? Humans don't speak our language. Unfortunately..." Dindel interrupted, though he sounded more gloomy than rushing.
Tyrique often wondered what happened to his friend. Why he spoke of humans with such careful fondness; he often sounded like he was longing for something (maybe someone?), but when Tyrique asked about it, Dindel just shrugged it off and changed the topic. He swore he'd find out what happened in his past one day.

"I know... But it was worth a try, right?"
"I guess it did. Now, let's see if can make our way outside in less than three hours."

They heard a "Bye!" from Lyra and a hopeful "May we never meet again." from Ban as the exited the room.
