art prefs
general notes:
- unless I specifically mention something in the design notes, it's probably an art style thing / up to interpretation! go nuts, interpret & draw small details however you want.
- I generally value fun, expressive stuff over quality & polish! if you draw my guys in funny memes / hanging out together / engaging in their hobbies I will cry
don't draw:
- explicitly romantic stuff (mutuals/friends ask privately if you really want to)
- suggestive / nsfw
- gore (minor blood, etc. is usually ok if it makes sense in context)
characters
currently most invested in my Empyria characters, especially the main cast (below). but honestly I'd love any Empyria art even if it's non-character (fan OCs for yourself, landscapes, bits of tech, etc), so please check out the lore site if you're interested in that!

Lyri

socially anxious grad student who somehow became a JRPG protagonist. has a complicated relationship with her noble family. serious, thoughtful, and surprisingly spiteful when she's with people she trusts.
- plays the viola & draws (mostly landscape sketches) in her free time
- childhood friends with Remy; she complains about him a lot but genuinely likes and admires him, and wishes she were better at showing it
- research buddies with Aster. her focus is much more practical than theirs and she tends to roll her eyes at their stupid proof-of-concept experiments; they bicker but really they get along famously
- looks up to Iris as the positive big-sister influence she desperately needs in her life and is prone to ignoring her flaws
Remy

a shonen protagonist having an out-of-genre experience. he's an incredibly talented summoner, but doesn't really want to make it his career, and is drifting awkwardly through life. chirpy and cheerful but with a surprisingly selfish streak.
- has a ton of miscellaneous hobbies, but most importantly he cooks! he likes making cutely presented stuff for his friends.
- monsters can basically look like whatever, but he tends to love the horrifying weird ones the best.
- Lyri's childhood friend. loves to drag her out to random events and fun stuff against her will
Aster

magic researcher with a ridiculous anime tragic backstory. can't use magic, so they build magitech to do it for them. they're reserved and inexpressive so people tend to assume they're cool and mysterious, and sometimes they lean into it, but really they're just a huge nerd.
- they're kind of a hobbyless loser... they just tinker and research. the closest thing I have to a ref for their gun is here
- greatly appreciates Lyri in a "oh thank god I finally have someone I can chat about my special interest with" type way
- Iris's baby sibling. they trust her with their life but feel a little weird about how nice she is to them, for a variety of reasons...
Iris

a private investigator who spends more time helping out around the community than doing her job. very warm and friendly; the kind of person who always knows what to say. has uncanny instincts when it comes to other people's motivations, and will not suffer any bullshit.
- likes puzzles and cheesy romance novels.
- Aster is her baby sibling. she's a little overprotective, but not directly, more in like... a "I will petition the city council to construct safer railings because my sibling is an idiot who doesn't watch where they're going" type way. she absolutely does not realize they feel weird about it
