General

Devaria is one of three moons orbiting a gas giant known as Medthal. While the gas giant may be the third planet from the star, it's located far enough from the sun that the moon is colder than it is on Earth, with the moon being blanketed in snow the majority of the time.

The seasons of the planet are wildly unpredictable, with only their length being about the same. The order of these seasons are affected by the position of Devaria relative to Medthal, its two other moons, and the gas giant's orbit around Ka-lah. Devaria has five seasons in total, which are as follows:

  1. Green Season: the snow melts and literally everything blossoms, trying to get as much of their offspring (plant and animal) out before the season ends
  2. Star Season: it’s colder than normal, forming ice crystals in the snow that now blankets everything in the entire planet. As the ice here is blue rather than clear it makes it look like mini suns scattered across the landscape
  3. White Season: basically winter but unlike in Star Season the snow doesn’t blanket literally everything. It’s more akin to being in a winter pine forest than anything
  4. Guiding Season: the farewell star is able to be seen in the sky. The snow recedes a little, making it greener than White Season but not nearly as green as, well, Green Season
  5. Barren Season: a strange miasma infuses with the sky, tinting everything a reddish-peach color. This is because Devaria gets a little too close to the gas giant in its orbit, and as a result a lot of things either blacken or wither or both
The moon of Devaria is significantly smaller than Earth, being slightly smaller than the Earth's moon for comparison. Because of this, the invasion team sent to wipe out all life on Devaria is much smaller than the 30-Vani team sent to Earth, consisting of only twelve members instead.
