For the scrapbooking prompt of the same name which asks "Who is your bean's best friend?"

“So tell us, do you have a best friend, if so, who is it?”

Haru scooted forward in his seat a little, excited to get to talk about his friends, before the crushing realization that the interviewer had asked for one best friend and that didn’t seem fair.

“I actually have many best friends. I consider all of the members of 3N1GM4 to be my best friends as well as my family, I don’t know if they see me the same way or not, but I see them that way! Outside of them though, I have my best friend Patty from U-01.”

“Oh? Really? You’re actually friends with him,” the interviewer seemed surprised and Haru was mildly offended by the question.

“Ah-ha-ha. Yeah, we’re actually friends and not just on tv,” Haru laughs, “I don’t know why everyone asks that question. Maybe they’re surprised that two beans with a three year age gap from two different idol groups could possibly get along? I don’t know, but to set the record straight, yes, we’re really best friends. As you might already know, we met on the set of the fantasy rom-com school drama, Distant Daydream and really just hit it off during filming. He’s just as funny, friendly and nice, if not more so, than the roles that he usually gets.”

“When was the last time you two talked or hung out?”

Haru laughed, “He literally FaceTimed me by accident right before the interview began.”

“Oh? That was him?”

Haru nodded, “I think he forgets to turn the screen off when he puts his phone away. I get the impression most beans find it annoying because it’s like…every two hours, but I kinda like it. Makes me feel like I have a friend who wants to talk to me every two hours or so,” he chuckled.

“Do you not feel like you don’t usually have that or something?”

“Uh, well, no I wouldn’t necessarily say that. I just… growing up, I never felt like I had any real friends or that the friends I had actually thought of me as a friend.”

“Is that because of your possible ADHD that you mentioned earlier?”

“More like probable, but I think that it may have something to do with why I felt that way,” Haru replied, before switching back to the question about his friendship with Patty, “anyway, the last time I was able to hang out with Patty was over the weekend. Basically, we try to find time to hang out whenever we’re not busy with any projects.”

“That’s really awesome,” the interviewer said, smiling warmly.

“Yeah, it is! Sometimes, we get lucky and we manage to get the other one to get a cameo role in the show we’re working on just so we can get a chance to hang out, but don’t tell anyone,” Haru said as he lowered his voice to a whisper at the end and giving the interviewer a wink.
