Egg Painting

"This is..." Shatter frowned deeply as he did his best to not just crush the egg in his grasp.

"An excellent idea." Swift jumped in with a grin, apparently pleased at Shatter's discomfort. While that was understandable, it wasn't helping Shatter's mood.

"I FAIL TO UNDERSTAND THE REASON BEHIND THIS." Metal was looking at the egg like it was some sort of puzzle, one that the robotic pokemon had no idea how to solve.

"I concur." The robotic type:null, newly dubbed Mecha for some reason Shatter wasn't sure of, spoke up. In the wake of the... flower incident Shatter had worked alongside Codex to get Mecha finished. Mostly spurred on by Metal telling him how helpful the other robotic pokemon had been.

Kazoku sighed. "We're supposed to be having fun. It's for fun." He gaze traveled across their whole group slowly. "There's no purpose beyond having fun and enjoying the holiday."

"YOUR EXPLANATION HAS BEEN NOTED. EVEN IF IT AN UNSATASFACTORY ONE." Metal finally picked up one of the many paintbrushes around them and rather messily began painting his egg.

"Agreed." Mecha nodded and went at his egg as well.

"It is sort of fun." Strike muttered as he focused on painting his own egg. A nice emerald green. How fitting.

"Let's just... try and enjoy ourselves ok?" Codex glanced around the group nervously. It was odd to see the emolga playing peacekeeper in the group but Shatter privately was grateful for the help. He just couldn't help but contrast it with... well what had happened in his first life. That look of absolute fury and sadness. It would stick with him forever. It had been rather impressive after all.

"Hey, I'm enjoying myself." Swift shrugged nonchalantly. "We're all having a good time here. Right?" The zorua's gaze settled on Shatter.

Shatter glared. "Yes, we're all having a great time." He answered through gritted teeth. Somehow Swift had gotten very good at annoying him. It was times like this he really wished he could just deal with the problem like he would have before coming to Shiverkeep. Thoughts of the hypotheticals helped calm him some at least.

"Boys..." Kazoku's eyes narrowed ever so slightly. The slight tone of warning in her voice had Shatter backing down immediately. Oh how the mighty had fallen. To be pushed around by a mere child. His past self would have balked at the thought. Yet he didn't really mind it.

From there the group fell into silence, painting their own eggs. Well he might as well try. Many things in this new world had surprised him. Perhaps this would add to the steadily growing list.
