As the low sun climbed over the horizon in the sky, Sage couldn’t help but find herself stirring, yet felt her movements contained in an embrace of warmth and bare skin, strong arms wrapped tightly around her back. She glanced up through hazy eyes, meeting a figure before her lain fast asleep, undefended and unaware, for what felt like the first time in years. She smiled, moving a hand to softly brush stray hairs from Sylvain’s face, tracing his hairline down to his jaw as his chest rose and fell in his sound slumber. He looked so calm, so at peace in his sleep. No traces of the reservations of the past, the distaste of circumstances or the desperation for escape plagued his face. There was no wall, no mask, no fear; Only an innocent face.

The memories of the night before felt as real as the lips upon her bare breast just hours before. The fondness of it all, the safety she herself felt in them, was beyond anything she could have dreamed of. In his comfort she found her own, ought first so long a place to be and to be valued and protected. For so long had she been desperate to support him that she had never thought to let him save her. Yet here he had been, all along, guiding and protecting her very being.

Sage’s hand traced from his jaw up towards his lips, giving over the gently as she struggled to support herself against his grip without waking him. She loomed over him ever so slightly, moving her fingers from his lips once more to cradle his face gently. She leaned down slowly, catching his lithe lips in her own in a way that seemed of a ghost, too scared to pull him from his dreams yet desperate to remain in his touch.

Her gentle caresses did not last long however, as she felt a hand take hold of the back of her head, pulling her deeper into the kiss. The surprise of the touch at her bare waist sent shivers through her as she gasped in a mix of shock and pleasure. She felt their bodies shift as Sage was moved from her side to her back, the strong figure of her beloved weighing her down as he moved to loom over her, continuing his assault upon her mouth and exploration of her body in remembrance of the night before.

Ages, it felt like, that the two remained in an impassioned battle before Sylvain finally relented, pulling back to look down at Sage in her bare existence. Rarely had she ever been so vulnerable before anyone. And yet here she was, in her purest existence, granting herself to him over and over in pure happiness and trust.

Sylvain leaned down closer towards his love, supporting himself on a lax arm as he pressed  his forehead against her own, stroking the hairs from her face and caressing her cheek, enraptured by her smile. “Making my dreams a reality. You certainly know how to wake a man up.”

Sage smiled in a teasing way up towards Sylvain as she spoke softly in retort “Just a bit more practice and I’m sure I’ll have it committed to memory.” Barely had she finished speaking before she found herself locked once again in a passionate kiss, wrapping her arms around Sylvain once again as she allowed his hands to wander. Never had she felt so warm, so comfortable , in any place. And despite all the fears, the pain and the struggles, she would not have had it any other way. If this was where life was meant to bring her, in its suffering and pain, then she would not change a moment of it.
