Dragon Companion

Standing in the kitchen, stirring the bubbling pot of stew full of colors in the mid day setting, Yua was starting to really enjoy the small but very active house that also served as a private diner on the days he was less busy with life. With the nice blond Incubus moving in with him, with all his dragons that just love and adored to explore and make a little bit of a mess of the house, it kept him on his toes even if he didn’t always want to me.

Close by the warm colored incubus rider who was lost in thought, Yua’s tan colored dragoned he lovingly called his furry noodle waited on the counter. Leviathan was waiting for Yua to look away, eyes focused on the liquid goodness that was lunch for the household that was rather quiet for once. Both unsure what Elijah was doing to entertain the dragons but whatever it was he was doing a good job with it.

“Don’t think about it.” Yua told him, reaching up to one of the higher cabinets to grab one of his more pricey spices without even glancing over at the dragon who laid in wait on the counter.

“Think about what?” Attempting to act innocent, in which he was, he knew right away what his rider meant. He had yet to dive into the lunch stew today, but it was on his mind without a doubt.

“Swimming in the food, you’ll become all gross and sticky. You’ll also get fur in the food, it’ll upset everyone.” Well... that was a bit of a stretch. But Yua was trying to teach his dragon to listen and not just dive into whatever he wanted.

The rider didn't sound like he was scouting his dragon, if anything just telling him what not to do because he knew him so well. But he was indeed scolding the misbehaving dragon, recalling many times where his water-loving dragon decided food was a suitable pool and in he went, not paying mind to who was eating it or if it was a stranger or friendly.

Wandering through the forest, Zephyr wasn't sure who or where he was, but he was definitely existing at the moment. 'Seriously?' Jumping, he looked around the open fields, a town off in the distance, but no one else was next to him. "Hello?" He questioned into the open air, met with silence at first. He had definitely heard something, he was sure of it. For now however, whoever it was seemed to be remaining quiet. Oh well, he'd figure it out later.

For now, the black shade drifted off through the fields to get closer to the town, finding an unusual thing along the way. 'A restaurant.' It piped up again, causing Zeph to swivel around, but again, nothing was there to speak to him. Squinting into the distance, he slooooowly turned back to the window to look into it. There! There was someone! Making food! And talking to...something else that was flying! Just like him.

It was a lot smaller though. 'It's a dragon.' the voice informed him, being much more helpful this time as he chose to accept it as someone he could hear but not see. "Oooo, it's pretty. Hey! Hey, what're you doing??" Sticking his head right inside, the voice sighed in his head. He couldn't hear what it was thinking, but the Hyde to this Jekyll was quickly discovering that with their death, a certain someone had lost their memories from the traumatic incident. Which was fair. But he was glad he still had them, the betrayal fresh in his mind and burning bright. Now wasn't the time though. Zeph was a bit too confused at the moment to take over and go somewhere strange. For now, he needed them to relearn the ways of the world a little.

“Buuut, the food is so warm and full of liquid! I love swimming, you know.”

“Oh, I know Levi. Believe me.” Bringing a spoon of the soup to his lips to try, as Yua heard another voice he turned to the open window he often left open when cooking to the new complete black figure that was giving him a hello. He was starting to wonder if maybe he should close it more often after it has brought him dragons, wild life, ghosts, and who knows what else in the future.

“Hello there! What are you?” Levi asked, though keeping his nice safe distance of sitting on the counter in a snake like pose while Yua put a lid on the pot. Foiling his dragons plans as he went to investigate. Shirtless as he usually was when inside, the rider hummed as he leaned down to investigate.

“You’re supposed to ask WHO are you, not what. That’s very rude.” With more displeasure in his voice, Levi drooped a bit. He didn’t like being told even indirectly he was bad, but he was used to it as he didn’t like to listen. He was learning though, more so when praise was involved. Shaking his head, he let his dragon sit for the moment, returning his attention back to the ‘guest’. “Hello there, I’m cooking dinner for my family and myself. What are you doing out here?”

Blinking at the noodle that was, the pair simply had the unfortunate task of being the first creatures he had come across. Subjected to a line of unexpected questioning however, he had to lean back for a moment to think. "Uuuuuh, I'm me!" Nodding to himself, that was indeed the absolutely perfect answer. For some reason he thought he heard some sort of mental facepalming though. 'You're a shade named Zepher.' came the tired whispers in his head that seemed to know so much!

"I mean, my name is Zepher!" he corrected, "I'm a shade and I-" pausing for a moment, he tilted his head to the side, waiting to see if he'd get another answer, but nothing came. "Aaaaand I'm.. exploring! I'm looking for something, but I don't know what." Feeling it deep down that there was something he was supposed to do, Zeph didn't realize he still shared the ingrained desire for revenge that was so strong it tied them to the mortal plane even after death. "Oh! Can I have some?" he piped up, feeling a twinge of something that he was pretty sure was hunger? 'You don't need to eat anymore' -Or not.

'You drain magic to feed and get stronger.' That made sense! Probably. The thing he could hear hadn't driven him wrong so far, as far as he knew. "Actually, I gotta ask if you're cooking magic, I can have some if it's that!" Facepalming again, the voice supposed it needed to be more specific talking to itself now. It would have been a great opportunity to find out if they could actually eat food still or not. Having just woken up, there were a lot of new things to debate what they could or couldn't do rather than rely on book information.

“Well clearly you are you, but that’s not very helpful...” Starting to wonder if this strange ghost was lost, he was debating calling to Elijah to see if he could help with the lost creature when it seemed to remember what his name was. It was a start, but not a big jump as he hummed. Levi had become curious enough to come over, Yua more than happy to let the spurious noodle wrap around his horn to examine the guest who came from somewhere but where was the question.

“It’s nice to meet you Zepher! I am Levithan~” Happy to introduce himself, Yua did stroke along his soft body as praise as he watched the strange shade.

“I’m Yua, I guess remembering the who and what you are is a start...” He still had a feeling the creature was lost though, if he knew it or not. He seemed to know he was looking for something, but finer details lost to time. “Well, this food isn’t magic I’m afraid. Some people in town may have something more magical?”

Just trying to help while keeping his dragon safe from the stranger, they seemed pleasant but Yua knew people were a strange thing. Yua did want to assist how he could though, pointing Zepher in the direction of where to go even as the bubbling pot started calling for him.

“Go into town, there’s more magic there, towards the big tall building. I wish you luck...”

Looking off in the finger's direction, Zeph looked more than happy to have some place to start looking for whatever he was searching for. Right now that was food. "That's too bad, but thanks Yua! Thanks Levithan!" Even if the other gave false information or didn't actually have a clue and was just getting rid of the ghost, that would have been fine too. The evil half didn't care as long as they had a destination now where there were people to learn from.

"Yuuua~" a much more familiar voice came from the back, a pair of little noodles trailing through the air behind him as he came to hug the other from behind. "Who are you talking to?" nuzzling into the incubus's back, there was no one at the window anymore, but he knew there was a lot of strange creatures they tended to attract. With a few kisses and short explanations though, the two soon had their lunch together.
