★ [Aliester] Desert Town

Traversing the blazing sands in the middle of the hottest part of the day was an easy task for the demon. But that didn't always mean he wanted to. The fact that they day was over didn't help one bit either, the heat starting to disperse without that fiery ball of bliss in the sky. Sitting his scaly butt down on a nice flat rock, Risk was currently cold, tired, and fed up with having to constantly sleep outside because they didn't have a proper place to lay down when nightfall came.

Thankfully all of this was going to be changing; tonight. After a bit of convincing, he had gotten his current traveling companion to agree to settling down in a hand made house, as long as he didn't have to settle for long. A stable place that was soft and didn't have scorpions trying to cuddle him was all he needed, personally Risk didn't care what Aliester did now that it was built. It'd be lonely if they never came back one day, but that was fine, he was use to chores by himself.

"It'll certainly need to be expanded again later, but for now, I suppose this will do." The pampered noble declared, the 'house' already consisting of two stories, twice as long as it was high.

Sitting on the taller male’s shoulder, his small dragon was curled up in the curve of his neck as Alester was looking out at the vast emptiness that was the desert as Risk was making up plans for the build. He could see the small group of people close by, often following them through the heat and provided some good company for them that came in handy around meals. Neither were always up to the task of finding food for one another, though Aliester mainly concerned himself with feeding the dragons and Risk as he could survive on sunlight. It made him feel over warm but when traveling through emptiness, it was a consequence he accepted.

“Let’s start off with one floor for now and build up from there. I think some of the ladies wanted to be our maids or something? They’ll need rooms and we might want to talk to the carpenter so things are organized...” Aliester didn’t mind the idea of settling down for some periods, but he didn’t want his ‘home’ to be always in a state of being torn down and rebuilt every year because they didn’t do it right the first time.

“Granted, I think they’ll be using magic to get our house up, so maybe that doesn’t matter? I’d still feel bad if it’s not perfect...” Turning away as the lights grew closer and people started setting up their own tents for the night, they were more similar to Aliester and didn’t mind the desert heat, and were happy to build up their saviors’ humble abode first before working on their own. Leaning over onto Risk’s shoulder where Rune was pinned between the two, they screeeeed softly until Aliester took them from his neck and put them into his pocket. Pleased  to be in the dark void for the night

“There should be a first floor for just entertainment, then we can have an upper floor with our own office area and bathroom. That’s how my parent’s room was set up and I think you’d enjoy that.” Granted, this was so many years ago. Aliester wished he had the blueprints to his home castle to  go off of. It was a lovely place to grow up in.

Humming, Risk didn't mind talking to the more experienced builders when he had a chance. They were already insistent on being helpful and telling the pair to ask if they ever need anything. They'd likely be over the moon to share their information with some expertise as long as he could get the proper tools together for the expansion. More lumber and stone would certainly be necessary. What they had left would have to be used for a servants quarters apparently.

"If that's what you'd like. It would be nice having the noisy floor separate for working in." The demon already had a good idea of the sorts of files and paperwork that would be coming his way from running his mansion down in hell. Part of him wondered if everything had gone up in flames yet or if his brother had taken over, the other part was too tired to care. "Any other requests?" he asked, taking up that small bit of space freed up from where the dragon had been on Aliester's shoulder.

“That sounds like a good plan, I don't suspect many will be joining us but...” Thinking about it, every time Aliester wandered off he swore he brought back at least one new person who wanted to join them on their adventures. They were always nice and in need of some sort of leader to show them the way, but Aliester just had them meet Risk and let them follow them around. “Well, maybe there will be...” Humming about that as he wrapped hsi arms around Risk, he always loved how cold the other was to the touch, and how Risk would snuggle into his strange warmth a vampire wasn’t supposed to have.

“First floor should be the dining hall, entrance hall, a big open area to hold get togethers and dances, a small library, and the kitchen. If possible maybe have a basement as well? For laundry, the wine cellar, maybe the bread ovens, and the extra storage for pantry items not needed for everyday use. We should also have the garden and courtyard in the center, I think it’ll be nice to look out upon when paperwork is being done and you just want to look up from it for a moment to enjoy the fact others are going about life.. Then maybe the second floor can have the office, servant quarters, our bedroom, and maybe a room for the dragons to lay in? Granted they can lay anywhere they want...” Thinking out loud to himself for a moment, Aliester fell silent as he thought about his home castle, and it’s wonders of rooms. “Maybe a greenhouse? We really should consult the others about it, We’ll need a lot of space for everyone...”

Chuckling at the end, Risk was glad he still had his top notch ability to memorize. Moving his legs over to cross them on top of Aliester's lap, he took a few minutes to repeat the list of things in his head a few times to concrete them in there. The halfling seemed distracted enough by his own thoughts to give him the bit of time before he spoke up. "I don't believe they'll mind as long as it's out of the desert's harsh climate, but a vassal's happiness is quite important."

Letting out a short yawn, for some reason the warm vampire had a way of making him give in to the draw of sleep after long days and nights of being awake. "Speaking of the greenhouse, a fountain as well as a few poisonous plants would be quite useful. For antidote purposes, of course. If we could manage to figure out how to get more than a cactus to grow, some sort of fruit tree would be both lovely when it flowers, and practical." By the end of his sentence, Risk was already starting to doze off against Aliester. Having more to say, but the words trailing off as if that were all.
