Rosalie's Pen

The sound of a hammer hitting nails rang out through the empty halls. Much of the rumish that was there when Mal first arrived had been swept up and moved to the dumpster area, though the building needed some much more work. At least it was start, though many more days would needed in what was going to be his busy life of renovating. He suspected it would be months, maybe even years until it was back to its glory days... but for now he was taking a small break from the theater repaired itself to make his new dragon her own pen in her own room off of his own.

Nailing together some boards as his tank top was tossed to the side, Malphas raised his hand to wipe his forehead dripping in sweat. The theater still didn’t have heating or cooling, but the workers Mal had called in said they’d be there tomorrow to fix it up. So soon hsi suffering on that front would be gone, and tomorrow wasn’t that long of a wait. Feeling something cold and very much solid brush against his bare back, he looked back at the fluffy rabbit covered in armour holding out a plank of wood as she stared at her new rider with big eyes. A;l too excited to help build her nice new area that was connected to the room Malphas was going to make his bedroom.

“Thank you Rosalie, Darling. Do you happen to know where Zeph is?” Watching her wiggle her small nose at a corner opposite him, Mal drew his attention to the area that was being swept up by the ghostly figure. He had told the shade about what he planned to do and he was very excited to offer his help and join in the activity of cleaning and building if it meant he could help. “Ah, I see. He’s being a very good boy.”

Ever since that evil butt went away and gave way to the very sweet one, it had been easy sailing since then. They had a nice sit down to chat, followed by Zeph making friends with the dragon that was so skittish of him at first but now was fine and often was found laying around trying to ‘clean’ his hair tendrils that didn’t need it.

Humming to himself, Zeph was busily making the largest pile of dust he could with the broom he acquired from Mal. The heat didn't bother him at all as a shade since he was always cold like that no matter what mother nature thought it should be. In fact, he even loved summer! It was nice being all warm, and toasty, and feeling alive. "My name is Zeph~ I have a broom~ I sweep the floor~ a little more~" He wasn't sure why that song was stuck in his head, but ever since he got to play with a little white dog, he couldn't get the tune out.

'Well if you could sometime before next week that would be great.' Chuckling a bit at the voice in his head, he turned to talk to the rat stuffed animal that he considered the physical embodiment of the voice. It just made things easier. "Awe, it's a nice song the puppy was super cute too!" Hearing that groan, the eyeroll that went along with it was obvious. But that was okay! He could tell they didn't mind too much as the other faded out into that strange sort of sleep again. They did that often, leaving him to his own devices unless he was especially distressed.

Finally finished with his sweeping however, Zeph swept the pile into a bag before looking around for the bunny. Whenever he finished a task, the voice said it was perfectly acceptable to go and pet the creature it had reluctantly accepted as a resident along with Mal. "Rosy!" he cooed, drifting over to flop on the plated bunny. It wasn't like he actually weighed anything right now so it was fiiiine. "Mal the floors are clean!"

Taking the new piece of wood from his dragon ever so carefully so she wasn’t startled, he kept an eye on her for a moment before he started to return back to hammering together the wood. With the new plank of wood his dragon had brought over, most of the pen was completed aside from the gate that would need to open and close. He glanced to the side to watch as she hopped off, returning with another while Mal was busy making her a nice little pen in her room. It wasn’t large and maybe not needed as she had her own room for now, but if he happened to get more eggs or dragons then it would be an easy way to keep their areas separated until they got along. He had enough experience with wild animals to just be safe and not push together any creatures that weren’t born together.

“Good job, Zeph. You’ve been so helpful and good, only the best of shade boys.” He was envious that Zepher seemed fine in the heat of the city, but he was also an undead creature and that was to be expected.

Wiggling and settling down as the shade laid on her, Rosalie was still as she wiggled her nose more as Malphas. He could only get small snippets of her thoughts currently, but she seemed pleased as her perky ears moved around, though eventually hopped along to go sit in the pen that was being built for her. Zeph was just laying and enjoying the ride, which was fiiiiine.

“Remember to be gentle, don't want her to be a guest scared of you again. Then everyone will be soooo sad. And we don't want that, do we?” Leaning on the wooden structure as he watched the pair be adorable as they were, he also didn’t want Zeph undoing the progress and just being a big butt to his sweet dam.

Rubbing happily on the armored bunny that was so big and cute, Zeph was so pleased to be accepted by the definitely a dragon creature. Clinging as they were off on a ride into the pen, he lifted his head up when Mal mentioned being gentle. Pouting, he did let go to slowly drift around, patting Rose before tidying up a little more bedding. "Noooo," he very much didn't want the big bunny to start running from him again. And, though the evil side didn't care, Zeph liked it when the other called him good and helpful.

They were proooobably some sort of friends now right? By now he could already hear the voice's warnings not to get ahead of himself even when they weren't awake to scold him though. Ooooor, they would absolutely tell him the pair were friends now! Especially living under the same roof. That meant they were at least roommates! "Bye bye Rosy, you're a good girl too." Drifting back towards Mal, he went to cling on to the demon next. It was the perfect way to absorb their magic. The voice was always pleased with the slow power absorption, but it just made Zeph feel better too after a long day of work. "Let's go outside and walk around! I wanna see if there's anything new!"
