Age Progression

Marco is 20 at the start of the story with time skips of about three years in between.

Character inspirations

Marco shares commonalities with the following characters:

• Kuzco (Emperor’s New Groove) - both have an affinity with llamas, although Marco’s was noted at a young age after befriending a llama that escaped from a petting zoo. Like Kuzco, Marco has a specific groove he likes to keep and dislikes anyone trying to throw it off.
• Milo Thatch (Atlantis: The Lost Empire) - both are mild-mannered, idealistic, socially awkward, and notably intelligent. Marco’s intellectual prowess adds to his heroism.
• Michael Jackson (singer/songwriter; 1959-2009) - For someone socially awkward, Marco’s dancing is heavily influenced by the late King of Pop. Marco would often practice in secret to the point of perfecting Michael’s dance style. Marco has adopted an MJ-like persona whenever he has the opportunity to showcase his dancing, as if he was another person.
• Logan Mitchell (Big Time Rish) - Like Logan, Marco is considered the brains of his friend group, being the most rational and honest.
• Guido (Cars) - Like Guido, Marco is endearingly loyal, helpful, funny, and friendly, especially to those in his closest friend circle. Being fluent in Italian, Marco can talk pretty quickly.
• Masato Hijirikawa (Uta No Price Sama) - both share the same Japanese voice actor, Kenichi Suzumura. They are also affiliated with the color blue. Some of Marco’s physical characteristics come from Masato with some subtle differences. Both are known to be reserved and serious yet emotionally genuine.
• Subaki (Fire Emblem Fates) - Marco is surprisingly like this character to a tee. Marco tirelessly strives towards perfection in all areas of his life, especially in his chemist career. Like Subaki, Marco is modest and hard-working, never drawing attention to himself, choosing instead to hide his efforts from the notice of others. Plus, he is known to be very demanding and even unforgiving towards himself as he works tirelessly to meet the harsh expectations that he sets for himself. Though unintentional, Marco and Subaki look very similar.
• Ienzo/Zexion (Kingdom Hearts) - Marco shares many traits with this character. Both are scholarly and quiet, but can be very talkative and have a habit of rambling on with their explanations, though straight to the point with important information.

• For Phillip Reich as Marco, he sounds close to Giorno Giovanna from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind and Kris from Fire Emblem: Heroes

• For Kenichi Suzumura as Marco, he sounds close to Masato Hijirikawa from Uta No Prince Sama. A sample of Suzumura-san's singing can be heard here: Suzumura Kenichi - Messenger

• Understudies for Marco's English voice include Chris Patton, Logan Henderson, Tate Donovan, Zach Aguilar, David Gallagher, and Vincent Corazza. Understudies for Marco's Japanese voice are TBD at the moment.
