FOOD FOR THE FOOD GOD, FOOD FOR THE FOOD GOD

“More than two? A bit strange but my statement still stands, I do adore kids all the same. I help at a daycare sometimes on the weekend. Maybe I should take you there for fun, the kids are soooo fun.” Not being sarcastic for once, kids were always just small demon spawns that wanted to play and nothing more. Just in different ways.

That was off the table for now, entering the big couple doors and winking at the male at the desk. He loved that confused look as he finger wiggled at him while Rayden led on. It was promising so far, not that he was going to tell Rayden that.

“So cruel, ignoring me who will give those kids all the sweets if I just got some affection from pretty big brother Ramen. But noooooo.” Up and up they went, thankfully not by stares but an elevator that was empty as many were still making their way home from school or work. To the fifth floor it seemed where door number 1 was the answer they seeked. Looking around to what was considered small to him, he watched as five much younger kids ran off. Many seeming closing in age.

“Well, you have fun with that. I’ll see you at dinner.” Setting his bag on the hooks, near many smaller bags, and taking his shoes off, he was off after the smalls. His eyes full of sparkles but in the less lewd way, wanting to chase around those smalls like no one’s business.

Snorting at that claim, Rayden was doubting that they had the money or means to get all five of the kids something sweet for a treat too often. "Hey, if you wanna bring the sweets, they better be those nice golden wrapped ones with the crunchy outside. Then I'll flirt you up for more instead." They were the same age after all, he doubted Adam would want to spend any sort of allowance they might save up on kids that weren't his just for an eyebrow wiggle or two.

Darkness wiggled its fingers, clicking them together as it acted like it was chattering with those boney noises. Wanting to fly off too, it waited for Rayden to pat it before unraveling from his neck and zooming off with its cloudy wings. It had seen the kids once before, but hadn't gotten the chance to join the chase that looked like so much fun.

Watching the dragon go, Rayden pulled out his normal collar to hook it back into place, preferring not to use a strap in case someone tried to tighten that in a fight. He hadn't expected Adam to go running off after the kids, but they did say they frequented a daycare in their spare time, this was basically just like a mini version of that. "Don't let them get water everywhere!" he shouted after them. For once it seemed he'd have an easier time making dinner.

“I hope you keep up on your claim~” Adam called after him, scooping up one of the laughing boys as he did soft screeches like those prehistoric dinosaurs they watched in science class. “Ferrero Rocher is the word you're looking for as well.” Adam vanished off, after the kids whose laughs echoed off the walls and down the hall until the running water came.

It was rather fun, though used to younger kids in the daycare these ones were just as fun. A nice range of shy to easily excitable. Only allowed two at a time apparently, the boys entertained themselves with toys in the bathroom door as the girls bathed first. Followed by the older two boys, and finally the lone boy. All the fun of splashing and getting clean, with only a little bit of huffing from Adam as he didn’t bring a spare set of clothes and didn’t want his getting soaked. A failure in all aspects, but he couldn’t say he didn't try.

After about 45 minutes, the halls and apartment were left quite aside from the sound of the TV the kids left playing. An oddity for any seasoned parent with children. Not that anything odd was being done, Adam just had them all curled up in blankets and was reading to them in one of the rooms, letting them wind down for dinner and then eventually homework and sleep that followed. Or that was what Adam assumes, he didn’t help with that aspect with the other kids he helped with. They weren’t in school yet.

That was a mouthful that Rayden definitely wasn't about to repeat any time soon as Adam shot off again. Grabbing the frilly light blue apron his mom simply adored, it was the only one in the house, and it wasn't like the kids ever made fun of him in it.

Leaving his rider to cook for the household, The Darkness was possibly one of the little trouble makers in the bathtub. Being small and toy sized, he looked like a nice ball of soot like the little creatures the kids had seen in one of their favorite movies. It helped that the dragon hid away even their pearly white teeth, having caused a child to scream the first time he came out to look around the apartment. He did seem to like water though, zooming around in the water from one side to the other while the kids tried to make little waves at him. Ending up as a little bit of a mess and making Adam huff, but everyone seemed to have had a good time.

Meanwhile in the kitchen, the quiet hum of the television served as lovely white noise for a while, but eventually Rayden started getting concerned about why there weren't any screams or shrieks going on. With dinner just finishing up, he hurriedly set the table before speed walking his way down the hall to check the rooms for the kids. Eventually coming upon them all sitting around listening to Adam read; quietly. "Dinner's ready little raptors, go gobble it up." he pointed a thumb behind him, the kids giving little yays and as they were easily distracted with the promise of food. The eldest stopped by briefly to deposit The Darkness in Rayden's hands before running after the rest. "You really are good with kids, guess you'll survive a little longer here." Wiggling that finger in the come hither way, he didn't really mean anything by it as he turned to head back to the table where there would still be two more plates waiting.

“I don't lie now Rayden, what sort of person do you take me for?” He asked, getting up and taking his little screeching dragon with him who was still snoozing away in his hands like a limp cat. Once the smell of food wafted into the air, the small beast was awake and waiting. Not that Adam cared if only he was served, hsi dragon ate off his plate plenty.

“Food for food god!”

“Calm down Rai, you are not the food god. You are the size of a rat.”

“FOOD FOR THE FOOD GOD!” SIghing, Adam shrugged and guessed if that was what he wanted to shout so be it. Trailing after those gay little wiggles to the kitchen.
