'You May Rely On It' [WIP]
Motivated by a magic eight ball app on her phone, Myxuki takes a trip to Cardio by herself and finds inspiration in a stray cat and a mechanic.
'Outlook Good.'
An older gentleman by the front of the shop bent down to pet the cat as it ate some food from a bowl. He then looked up and spotted Myxuki, giving her a questioning glance. She didn't ave enough time to prepare an explanation before he asked, "Is... everything alright, ma'am?"
Myxuki stepped up onto the concrete and took cover beneath the awning. She didn't want to elicit concern from the employee, so quickly responded, "I'm alright..." She took a breath, trying to get her breathing back to normal. Running over here hadn't been a very good idea. "I was... following this cat."
"Oh... how come?"
“I…” Well, this was embarrassing. Why did she follow the cat? And through the rain, all the way here for that matter!
"Oh, she scratched you, huh?" The mechanic commented.
Myxuki looked at the back of her hand. The scratch hadn't quite stopped bleeding yet. Still red-faced, she hesitated to reply; She hand't figured out how to answer that first question yet...
"Why don't you come inside for a moment. I can get you a towel and band-aid while you get your story straight." He flashed her a friendly smile.
She nodded, "Okay... thank you, sir." She made sure to try to be polite. More time to think of a reasonable answer was more than welcomed.
"Once you accept the things in life that you can't possibly control or understand and embrace what you can influence, you can begin to improve your outlook on those very things. Or, so a wise man once told me. Although, pondering the impossible is perfectly acceptable."
