opens the eru x korenne storybook of why theyre a couple now

so eru’s went to middle class schooling w the help of their foster grandparents, and theyre just.. eccentric. daydreams a lot, is quiet, doesnt stand out.. or tries not to, at least. Their best friend during HS was danny (linzo’s kit) bc they just found a kin in him?? —

(scenario where eru asks to sit w danny on the grass)

danny: dont sit there the grass wouldnt like that
eru: oh ok!! *sits a little off*
danny: ..thank you

and eru was p content with being around him.. talk quiet or relax together, but a nice presence

korenne in this context was pretty popular. she’s not shy but not aggressive, and is generally liked by her classmates and teachers. part of the popular groups, but she herself didnt stick out too much. she enjoyed being around people accepting her! most talk is like gossip.

korenne/eru/danny are classmates, but korenne always watched them from afar. rumors said they're weird, unapproachable. danny eventually dropped out of HS due to personal reasons and there was a lot of gossip going around the school. people expected that due to his nature

but korenne was always worried.. that she didn't give danny a chance. eru also started participating in class less/would leave early during lunch break. One time a teacher asks korenne to return a book to the library and korenne does so, and runs into eru putting away library books

she learns eru has been working at the library in their free time. eru didn't like socializing and was using their book knowledge to help organize the library on their own time. implied potential bullying.

their first few meetings is korenne helping teachers check out books, return books, maybe some paper work for check outs.. eventually she started checking out her own books too. eru would glance at the book a bit, scan, and hand it to her silently

it’ll mostly be hobby books. sewing, craft, baking.. their first real convo is when eru suddenly comments, “There’s a really good recipe on page 34.” really off handedly at a recipe book she’s checking out. she’s surprised to hear eru’s voice (usually silent or quiet in class)

and its something korenne couldn't help but like.. do the recipe. Abring leftovers to school and give some to eru. eventually talk about how her family has a small garden and that she wants to make homemade desserts w homegrown ingredients. eru listens.

People may have picked on korenne a little for like.. not hanging out “with the girls” or “talking about boys” as much as she “used to” but.. she kind of enjoys the quiet company of eru.. sometimes they don't talk but she’d read or have small convos and eru always looks attentive

And its something where by senior year of school, she might bring up being a cosmetologist, and its another small comment of eru being like, “I didn’t know that about you. That sounds wonderful.” Catches korenne of guard by a lot.

it makes her feel warm being validated probably bc she probably was always seen as someone doing something “bigger,” with how much people tell her shes helpful or smart or kind, and.. it’s just a small comment, but eru caring a little about Her as an individual was nice

they part ways after graduating, korenne going to vocational school while eru stays back at the family bookstore. they keep in contact through text. korenne learns eru is talkative through text.

by the time she gets out of school, she begins to work as drea’s assistant. the studio is located pretty close to eru’s bookstore, so they eventually do see each other again.

bc i know she's the type to guilt over things... in present time, eru reunites w danny, they would text her and say he’s doing well, she “should visit him sometime. I’m sure he’d like your company.” she eventually becomes friends w danny too

korenne develops a crush on drea. charlotte happens. korenne realized she doesnt actually see drea romantically, but someone she cares for. she does talk this out w eru bc her feelings are conflicted and they listen.

korenne’s main dynamics: 1) drea is blunt as fuck. will not let her get away w self depreciation 2) eru analyzes her and points out her strengths 3) danny may be passive but she learns how he functions and that he’s capable of taking care of himself despite what others perceive

during charlottedrea, theres a time where drea specifically only cares for charlotte and for once.. korenne doesnt mind? just want to see drea happy. Realizes she doesnt love drea romantically, but instead wants the best for him

probably hangs out around eru more at this time.. she always hung out w them, but more spontaneous at this point eru probably heard abt her love woes for multiple kits she had “crushes” on but eru themself never really questioned why she didnt date them

but its bc korenne always ends up... letting someone else do the job or sees the kit is better off w someone else despite her support

i think w the drea crush thing, korenne might cry bc she's being strong for drea but genuinely is like.. hurt or lonely

and its something where she'll cry but after she'll move on really quick

and that eru sees that a lot in her.. in that they're glad she trusts them w those kinds of feelings

and it's smth where eru's mindset is "i love everyone" so i kinda can see eru ask if they could hold her after that incident

and korenne probably would need that hug but also be like "..This is different"

bc korenne never gets pampers back/she's always in the position to pamper/take care of others

so its kind of like eru going pat pat pat

there's gonna be a period where eru, who is not touchy (at least openly), is suddenly touchy with korenne and... it's a lot to korenne

like korenne noticing it bc it's her tendency to have crushes on people easily

but it's also eru's kindness and treatment that gets her flustered

korenne would confess first after jiedrea bc seeing how nice jiedrea are, she's like... what if i... tried too

and asks eru out but gets all flustered and panicked and says it's okay if they're still friends, she juts wanted to have a word once, and she's sorry for being selfish

but eru gets really red and just

"...This is my first confession."

the thing is i think eru already had sorted out in their head that they're polyamurous and would openly admit it to korenne immediately to get it out of the way

bc they don't want to lead korenne on or have her not expect it

and it's something where the confession will lead to smth along the lines of

eru: I'm sorry if you want me to strictly love only you... but I don't think my brain works that way--
korenne: SOBS
korenne: THATS FINE

despite how easy korenne jumps into the relationship, eru is really careful about making sure korenne is happy/understand their POV on things bc they.. they know they’re different from others, and want korenne to have a chance to either adapt or learn together

before korenne’s confession, eru already had crushes/wants for multiple at once, but they didnt know.. how to approach it which one day, korenne being korenne, is like. DO YOU LIKE MULTIPLE PEOPLE I WANNA KNOW YOUR TASTES TOO!!

(With context Eru introduced Rain to Korenne as a regular customer and Korenne knows Rain as a fashion model in the industry)

which makes eru feel really accepted/warm inside bc.. korenne never.. Jumped to conclusions about them? but also seemed to click w eru that eru never felt they had to justify themself? so eru just.. really like korenne a lot too
