Diamonds

zYR1C.pngzXQxp.png
The matriarchs of Gem society who make up the Great Diamond Authority. As the Great Diamond Authority, they control and command the Gem society with the express purpose of expanding the Gem empire. Each Diamond leads their own faction and controls several colonies. When a new Diamond is needed, the existing Authority combines their power to embed special material within a large planet; after several millennia has passed, once the planet’s total life force has been expended, the new Diamond emerges.

Zircons

A4QcL.pngzYR4u.pngzYR4r.pngzYR4v.pngzYR4t.pngzYR4s.png
Small Gems with extraordinary abilities. These Gems are unique that they cannot be created with Injectors, they form naturally over thousands years, usually within asteroids and planets. Because of their extreme age, they are extremely valuable, even more so for their knowledge and expertise. Zircons are second-in-command to the Diamonds and are assigned on the basis of who would benefit the most from their ability.

Sapphires

zXQxU.pngzXPjN.pngzXQy2.png
Rare Gems with the ability to see into the future. These small prophets aid the Diamonds with their visions to influence their decisions and alert them of impending danger.

Platinums

zYR1K.png
Small Gems with psychic abilities, most common being telekinesis. While the majority are strong enough to work on their own, the weaker or defective ones are used instead as power sources for various Gem technology and weapons, often grouping several Platinums per object.

Thulites

zYR29.pngFoyxW10P_o.png
Thulites are aristocratic seamstresses, working with Nacres to customize Pearls for the elite. On rare occasions, they also aid Diamonds when they create specialized cuts of other Gems, usually Quartzes, for a specific colony or court.

Chalcedonies

zYR1y.pngzYR1x.png
Gems assigned to specific colonies and Gem settlements to supervise activity and ensure colonization is proceeding as planned. They are noticeably slimmer and shorter than the usual Quartz soldier despite being the same type. They report directly to the Diamonds and work often with other elites.

Agates

Ae23k.png
Agates commonly manage larger groups of lower soldier Quartzes via means of intimidation, as well as serve as personal bodyguards for the Gem elite.

Scapolites

zYR2j.png
Gems who study planets, Gems, and history, as well as conduct various experiments in the name of the Gem empire. They are extremely intelligent, observant, and hands-on, the majority preferring to do their own field work.

Lapis Lazulis

zYR1N.pngzYR1L.pngA395H.pngzYR1O.png.png
Gems who specialize in terraforming colonies and other planetoids. Though most are partial to water and flying, others display greater abilities and power.

Peridots

zYR2a.png
Gems who mainly serve as technicians and Kindergarteners, as well as field researchers and scouts. It is notable that Era-2 Peridots are smaller and have less abilities than their Era-1 counterparts, due to diminishing resources, so they are outfitted with limb enhancers. They are intelligent Gems, often possessing mechanical and historical knowledge, particularly on technology and colonies.

Nacres

BmxIb.pngzYR1W.png
Gems created by Ocean Dream Diamond to cultivate and educate Pearls to serve high society. They appear similar to a Pearl, except taller and with more commonly misshapen Gemstones. While Ocean Dream Diamond produces the material to incubate a Pearl, Nacres continuously tend to the process as these Gems form differently than others.

Calcites

zYR1v.pngA1QHQ.png
Calcites are general laborers, though their stocky build and shapeshifting tendencies suit them best for construction. Other roles that Calcites have taken include soldiers, gladiators, and escorts.

Citrines

zXQxl.png
High-ranking soldiers who also serve as guards employed by the Gem elite.

Rose Quartzes

zXQxB.png
A specialty Quartz produced in the Prime Kindergarten. They are a specific cut of defensive Quartz created by Pink Diamond for her colony, best known for their defensive abilities. They are currently bubbled and stored within Pink Diamond's Zoo.

Amethysts

zXQxk.pngzXQxi.png
A common purple Quartz produced in the Prime Kindergarten. Production started well before the war, as they were initially used for grunt work in colony preparation.

Jaspers

zYR1G.pngzYR1M.png
A common Quartz produced in the Beta Kindergarten. As the war continued, they were created in a rush to supply the battlefields with more Gempower, and as a result many are considered weaker or defective compared to those from the Prime Kindergarten.

Beryls

AEEUv.pngzYR1w.png
Era-1 Beryls are personal loyal bodyguards for both aristocrats and lower-ranking Gems where needed. They usually protect in groups if the situation calls for it or they are tasked with a larger population/area. Different subtypes are characterized not only by colour, but fighting style and abilities. However since the beginning of Era-2, their chemical composition and abilities have been heavy altered to create smaller, different-looking Gems outfitted with various technology. These Era-2 Beryls serve as escorts and surveillance Gems.

Rutiles

Ae23j.png
Gems who work as scouts on prospective colonies. While some have piloting capabilities, they commonly explore new planets for resources and landforms.

Rubies

zXQxW.pngwYEeG8Ia_o.png
Common foot soldiers who often work in teams of multiples. Some are employed as personal escorts and bodyguards while others have piloting experience. Rubies are numerous and considered highly expendable.

Silvers

zYR1S.png
Gems who serve as civil servants, making up the majority of the employment in Gem cities. Their jobs include messengers, rail operators, and receptionists, amongst others. Though small in size, they’re commonly outfitted with destabilizers or similar weapons to keep other Gems at bay.

Beach Glass

zYR1F.png
The incubation leftovers of other Glass. These Gems’ looks and abilities vary, though they behave similarly. Beach Glass tend to follow other Gems as they try to find a perfect fit for themselves wherever they are.

Pearls

zYR1Q.pngzYR1R.pngzXQxt.pngzXQxr.pngM0sxlMAG_o.pngzYR1Z.pngzXQxs.pngzXQxE.pngzXQxF.png
Custom-made handmaids created by Ocean Dream Diamond and cultivated by Nacres. They’re most commonly given to high-ranking aristocrats, however, lower Gems can earn one if they’ve done an act of heroism towards the Diamonds. Pearls are highly customizable to their owners’ needs as they are seen as pretty status symbols. They often do menial tasks for their owners such as opening doors and holding their effects.

Synthetics

zYR1z.pngzXQxS.pngzXQxC.pngzXQxm.pngzXQxV.pngzYR28.pngzYR22.pngzXQy1.png
Artificial Gems created by Petschite Scapolite. These Gems are made of the dust and shards of other Gemstones, melted and molded into new Gemstones. Their success depends on the amount of material present, as well as the Gems’ natural compatibility with one another. A Synthetic’s place in Gem society is also dependent on their appearance and abilities. They were created after Pink Diamond’s death, when Petschite Scapolite vowed to find a way to some day resurrect her Diamond. These experiments also create almost-new Gems without expending Homeworld’s limited resources.
