Bysmalbats are a closed species, meaning you cannot make a Bysmalbat without permission. There are two main ways to obtain permission: acquire a MYO slot (with which you can create a Bysmalbat), or acquire a Bysmalbat adoptable (in which you will receive a premade Bysmalbat design).

A MYO slot can be acquired by:

• Purchasing a slot from the shop. MYO slots are available in limited quantities (restocked monthly) in the Copper Coin Shop for both USD and for Copper Coins, the species currency.
• Winning a raffle. These are hosted exclusively in the species Discord.
• Trading for, repurchasing, or being gifted a slot from another member. Some community members may put their MYO slot up for offers. If there are any listed, you can find them in the Bat Discord in the #bat-offering channel.

A Bysmalbat adoptable can be acquired through:

• Official adopt sales. These can come in the form of an auction, a set price sale, or an OTA. They are hosted on the Bysmalbats toyhouse and are Bats created by sinn or shiba.
• Guest artist adopt sales. These can also come in the form of an auction, a set price sale, or an OTA. They are hosted on the Bysmalbats toyhouse and are Bats created by approved guest artists for the species.
• Trading for, repurchasing, or being gifted a Bat from another member. Some community members may put their Bysmalbat up for offers. If there are any listed, you can find them in the Bat Discord in the #bat-orphanage channel.

They can be obtained through various methods, such as raffles held in the Bysmalbat Discord or through the Copper Coin Shop.

Copper Coins are the currency of Shambala’ha. They can be used to purchase a multitude of items (MYO slots, trait add ons, redesign tickets) from Salone Di Bellianta, the Copper Coin Shop.

There are no plans to make mad traits available with real currency.

No, Bats must have distinctly humanoid faces.

Yes, though the amount of Wonder they possess determines how easily and how well they can disguise themselves. A higher amount of Wonder naturally lends to more proficient disguising.

They take on human skin tones, and normal human features. Patterns on skin and extra features present on the bat (wings, extra eyes) can appear as tattoos. Their wings can be disguised to look like extra fabric from their clothing.

They do age, but at a much slower rate than the average mortal. Bats with enough Wonder could even make themselves appear younger or older at will.

Yes, bats often take on the themes from their allegories.

Yes, it tends to be influenced to a certain extent.

Bats are born with deviant traits. They’re just less commonly seen among the community compared to standard traits.

As a standard trait, only about 30% of a Bat's body could be covered in fur. As a deviant trait, they could have an excess of fur, meaning their body is covered in greater than 30% but less than 70% fur. Of course, these percentages can be visually subjective, so feel free to consult an admin for trait advice.

No, they are unfathomable (not allowed under all circumstances), even as prosthetics.

Yes, as long as they don’t look too similar to the thorns/ spikes (deviant) trait.

Since they’re on two different anatomical parts, it would count as 2 MAD traits. In contrast, the MAD trait "Strange Growths" can be found on multiple body parts (wings, face) and still be considered 1 MAD trait.

Yes. For example, jellyfish tentacles would have the ability to sting. But whether you decide to make use of these features is up to you.

There is no singular, specific style of clothing that Bats must wear. They all hail from different regions, and may have varyingly integrated themselves into human culture, so Bats appreciate a diverse selection of attire.

Some regions may rely on particular naming conventions, but there is otherwise no required naming format for Bats.

This is mostly left to the discretion of the owner. Some bats feel pain, some don't. False tentacles can break and tear (chains, ribbons, etc.). Some can even bleed.

Yes, they can. But considering the importance and meaning of allegories to each individual bat, sharing contracts (and thus allegories) is rare. Bats that usually engage in such contracts are either siblings, twins or exceptionally close.

Allegories are only shared if both bats were parties involved in the original contract. There is no way for bats to pass on their allegories through natural and orthodox means.

Every part of a bat contains Wonder. It would likely drive the human insane, or cause some unsavoury mutations.

There are laws in place within Shambala'ha to prevent this from happening. Regardless of legislation and moral principles, the bat will gain the eaten bat's Wonder. But since the Wonder taken in isn't personalised to the consumer, it often causes issues with health, unstable Wonder and even Madness.
