  • Tearis

"The land of the Minotaurs, Tearis remains the last nation in the west free from Galdor's iron grip."

Tearis is a somewhat small country located the furthest West on mainland Delanor. It is a land of vast highlands, valleys, and cliffs, and also the native home of the Minotaurs. Tearis used to be much larger, at least twice the size, but much of its land was taken by the Galdan Empire's conquest in ancient times. Though initially sparsely populated, the minotaur tribes joined together to form one united front, resisting further Galdan attacks and keeping their most precious lands.

Though culturally distinct from the island north of it, now referred to as Northern Tearis, the tribes native to that island joined forces with the Minotaurs as well in order to better protect each other from future Galdan aggression. In recent times Galdor has largely turned its attention elsewhere, but the threat it holds is ever-present, and the arrangement between Tearis and Northern Tearis is as strong as ever.

Led by a single chief, the Divine of Thunder Kaia, Tearis is now a populated country consisting of almost entirely Minotaurs. Though the people of Tearis are often friendly and jubilant, their nation has remained all but closed to outsiders, unable to trust people they are unfamiliar with due to worries of Galdan spying. Due to this, it is often unknown the exact population of Tearis, a fact that keeps Galdor wary to attack.

Minotaurs outside of Tearis are exceptionally rare, primarily due to the fact that travel through Galdor is difficult, if not often impossible. Minotaurs found elsewhere are almost always exiles and are often found in the roles of adventurers or mercenaries.
