Asteri come from within the Void, an expanse of nothingness in the far reaches of the universe. They are made of the essence of the Void and can travel freely through it. They're quite quick, since moving their nothingness is quite easy. Their forms are not physical, but they can interact with the world how a ghost stereotypically can (knock things around, make noise, change temperatures, etc.). However, they can interact easily with each other, as if they exist on the same physical plain.
Asteri can appear in dreams and nightmares, though they won't have any direct impact on them. They tend to like to stay in the peripherals of the mind, just out of reach. They make more appearances in foggy and cloudy weather, as well as at night, as that is when visibility is lowest.
Asteri are not community-driven creatures. They are quite solitary, though some can be social once in a while. Most tend to travel and exist alone for most of their lives.
Asteri cease to exist (die) when they are forgotten. Once forgotten, they fade way, essence returning to the Void to be used again.
On 4dopt, Asteri are all "omni" sex. On 4dopt this means they can all breed with each with no regards to whether the adopt is male or female (it is both).
Asteri do not experience sex or gender similar to humans. It is not relevant to their appearance or experience. You may refer to them however you wish. To reproduce, Asteri combine the essence of the Void within them to create a new apparition.
