What gives the world life? Sunlight? Water? The Mitochondria? In this world, magic seeps from every rock and every blade of grass. It moves life and pushes elements forward. Each species on the planet has evolved and adapted to different forms to harness this magic and use it to their will, and they’ve grown so much most don’t even realize where their magic comes from. When once the days and nights lasted weeks, now only last a mere 24 hours all because of magic. It brings together cells of species allowing for those who truly love one another to develop a family all of their own, and allows others to slow down the aging process.

The race that has managed to hone the magic the most is the Equine’s, despite not all of them being able to manipulate this natural magic the ones who can are able to hone their skill to a level that has yet to be seen. The horn that they develop is perfect for absorbing and redirecting the magic that emanates from all around, and gives this magic the perfect path to travel from. Dragons also have access to this magic, but it is more used for their bodies rather than to manipulate the world around them. The more magic a dragon is exposed to,the larger they can grow and longer they can live. Studies have shown that young dragons who live in the same household as a Unicorn will on average grow to be 1.2 inches taller than their peers living in a purely dragon household.

In the EDK, Dragons and Equines living together is not uncommon. Formed in 1905 when King Flame of the Dragon Kingdom married Queen Sundrop of the Equine kingdom, hence EDK. Ever since their union 110 years ago the kingdom has been the largest Kingdom in all of the regions. After fighting two wars and proving to their enemies and allies their military is not to be reckoned with. Despite a few squabbles here and there with new territories and conflicting interest between different kingdoms the EDK has been in peace time since the 1950’s.

Now in 2015 the EDK is embracing the modern era, leaps and bounds in technology leading to a generation unlike any other that has seen before. As the youth run around the kingdom and find themselves in this tech centered world, the older generations continue to forge forward for a stable and prosperous life. Some try to keep up with all the latest trends and new types of cellphones, others still cling to their radios like their life depends on it.

The hotspot of all this activity in the Kingdom is The Capital, it’s no wonder most stories come out of its streets. Nestled on an island between the Equestrian and Dragon Kingdom it’s grown leaps and bounds since construction began on the first commercial buildings back in 1912. If you’re looking for a fresh start, a job in creative work, a place to always party, history filled streets, a headstart in a defense career, and plenty of drama you’re going to want to move here. Even the King and Queen love it here! Whether you’re on the Dragon side, Equine side, in the Capital or just visiting the Kingdom you’re bound to walk away with a story or two of this sprawling hotpot of a country.
