Choosing A Gamemode
In Town of Salem there are multiple gamemodes. These include but aren't limited to: Classic, Coven, Dracula's Palace, All Any, and Four Horsemen. Each gamemode has a different set of roles, and therefor a different criteria on how the server should be made. It's important you choose this first to know how to advertise your game and what to look for when assigning roles.

Understanding Role Mechanics
As the GM of the game, you must have an understanding of all of the roles you will be working with. Be sure to research the roles that may come into play in your game once you've chosen a gamemove. Comb through any mechanics that may mess with your game or the playstyle and work accordingly. For example, the Blackmailer. Will you make it to where the person they blackmail is entirely silent, or just can't respond to questioning?

The Server

Here's a link! This is what you will use to set up your game's server. You are free to edit this to your leisure and add new channels, but keep in mind that all permissions have been set and should not be touched unless you have a full understanding of how to work with them.

Copypastes
Most of the server in truth is copypasting rules and information across the server. You can find a basic set of those here. Feel free to edit them to your leisure! The toolbox instructs what piece should go where, as well.

Accepting Players
This part is also easy! When accepting a new player, simply give them their number's role, as well as the Town role. Assign the color accordingly, and rename their house. For example, "1_character". When that player dies, simply remove the name from the house, seeing as it doubles as the player list. The template should automatically set their permissions by giving them the two roles instructed, so do not mess with permissions.

Evil Team Chat
Do not give the evil team their own role, as that would give it away to the other players. Instead, give each person's role number access to view and chat in the evil team chat.
