2P! AU

A Time of Death AU in which all of the characters are replaced with their 2P selves. Meant mostly as a character study to understand what the characters would have been like if they responded to their lives differently and were surrounded by slightly different stimuli. (Name originated from Hetalia's 2P!AU, but unlike that one, this AU does not focus on violence.)

After the World Unification Treaty was signed, D-SEC became the figurehead for all of Invidia, and is the only company left standing on the planet. The name of a recent tragedy involving Freedom's attack on D-SEC's newest space shuttle, Surveyor. This was the first time in recent history that Freedom had launched the offensive on D-SEC outright, and it led to the death of many D-SEC officials, such as Draiss Xylander and Riveta Kite. Afterwards, Freedom was hunted down and crippled, resulting in the death of Kira, a longstanding criminal and leader of the local Freedom unit. The Shuttle Sabotage is looked upon by most now as a time of grieving.

Slums

Considered the plague of the metropoles, the slums are found in most of the major cities of Invidia and are home to D-SEC's failures as a government. The people there are often not considered citizens and aren't allowed the same rights as the people living within the rest of the cities, and are often crime beds, although slums folk often share a sense of unity against D-SEC. Freedom is sometimes welcome in these places, although not always.

Squad 6

A famous D-SEC military squad, trained by Draiss Xylander, led by Atlus, and comprised of Tyrak Karstag, David Hollow, and Riveta Kite. It did great work at hunting down Freedom, but suffered great losses after the Shuttle Sabotage and fell apart.

The transport system frequently used worldwide, but especially in the city of Luxi. It is comprised of a monorail system that stretches above the roads of the city, and people can ride it for free so long as they have an ID chip. The VeloStar system also sometimes goes out into the wastes to allow people to travel between cities at their leisure, but those are guarded and travel must be approved by officials for citizens' safety.

Villages

Small groups of people who make lives for themselves deep in the Wastes. Their life expectancy is much shorter than those of the people living in the metropoles, as these villages are constantly exposed to pollution and dangerous wildlife. These communities are loosely bonded.

W

Wastelands

The wastes cover 70% of Invidia's land mass and are desolate and unforgiving to live in. No Invidian citizen currently lives out there, but it is home to both Freedom and the small villages that have nowhere else to go. The land and fauna have grown tough and scarce due to the mass output of pollution from the metropoles, and even breathing the air for too long is known to have lasting detrimental effects on one's body.

Wings of Freedom

The moniker used by the core group of Freedom that the plot focuses on. They are not stationed anywhere in particular, and travel wherever they're needed. Zeriah named it as such in honor of his late mentor's dreams.

World Unification Treaty

A treaty signed at the end of the Endless War, after Luxi defeated Noxi in the decisive Battle of Utes. This treaty ensures that every country who joins Luxi will be given equal treatment and relief so long as they follow Luxi's government, with the intent of erasing all conflict from the future. It was successful, and is the reason Invidia can stand united today.

X

X-Suit

A set of standard armor that all D-SEC soldiers wear. It is built to be light and flexible, but it generates a closely-wrapping energy shield that molds to the user's body to protect them from ballistic damage and temporary bursts of extreme temperatures. It does little to protect a person against blunt force or close combat, however. Its greatest weakness lies at the base of the neck, where taking damage can eliminate the shield entirely.

X-Tech

Energy-based technology that now provides Invidia with everything it needs. It was originally built as weaponry, and is still used today through guns, shields, and blades. The term was coined by its creator, Terry Donos.
